Re: John Imbriale - 3 years ago
Interesting you say that. I noticed he got caught in a later turf race today giving the 1/4 time and should been on 3/4. For the most part I like him. I also liked Marshall Cassidy and felt Tom Durkin was the Goat. Larry Cohlmus, I thought just yelled too much. Back to Johnnie I, I find his calls direct, good tone and mostly flawless. I do think it makes a difference and you need a good one. Mostby albatross - Ask the Experts

I read your post and looked at it also. Since we saw it after the fact, sounds like no action for either of us. I don’t think I’d be mad if I was taken down, I thought inside made contact twice, but again, no $$by albatross - Ask the Experts

Regarding the scratches of the MTOs during a heavy rainstorm, I thought the same thing. During the broadcast I caught bits of Maggie talking about just that. While I didn’t hear all of the explanation for it, she was addressing the reason. I don’t know if it’s on tape or if anyone heard the entire thing. If there is a reason, I’d like to hear it. Re: Oaklawn Handle - 4 years ago
Thank You better wording my thoughts. When NJ started getting full track signals roughly early 90s coming in they were all different, depending on demand. I remember Monmouth sending out as low as 3 or 4% but again a long time ago, but the Haskell Day at least double. Right now Oaklawn and GP must be getting whatever limit up is. The bet takers don’t even have to open the doors or pay tellers,by albatross - Ask the Experts

Re: Oaklawn Handle - 4 years ago
By saying 82.5% you mean they keep 17.5% IF the handle was on track where I would guess they handled maybe 200-300k tops and maybe more in state or some Track owned OTB. The way I thought it works is the rest is the sale of the product, signal to the market at maybe 5-8%. I would like to know what they’re getting for the signal now vs. any other time prior. Huge Demand with little supply, but Iby albatross - Ask the Experts

Mr. Bee, as I see you commented on the West Coast Swing for the links, I’m curious if you’ve sized up the field. I’m down on a few long ones for small $. Scwartzel, Cantlay and Chris “home run†Baker just off their 2 round patterns. I see Nick Taylor just completed the 0-3 X. My question is, can you help with the ground on the 3 different tracks they’re playing. Or any input on varianby albatross - Ask the Experts

Re: bc question - 5 years ago
Mr. Bee. I couldn’t agree with you more. A terrible business decision. I’m not schooled on the new CHRB ruling just signed by the governor. I know about the 10 days being brought to more like hours. If, by some horrible accident, the weekend prior to the BC, what can be done by the CHRB to close the track. I believe there are 4 or 5 members on the board. Let’s say 3 vote to close. Three friends and I have been planning a trip to The BC in Arcadia and then a little beach time down the coast into the opening of The Bing Meet the following Friday. Unfortunately, with this news, it seems like they have to move to CD. A lot can go wrong in five weeks at SA prior to November. 11 days in Louisville just doesn’t have the same appeal. A good question where the response will usually depend on the performance of the sire’s offspring. But in most cases, the sire can try and steer the foal in the the safest direction. As far as what you’ll give up or what you pass on, I think that depends on what you’re juggling. If you work hard, play hard, overused term, it depends how hard you play. #2 I just pulled out the book to check, Both Mott and Shug trained Heatherton. I remember seeing Shug at Mth with her, but he might have recently taken the Loblolly job. Regardless, agree on either or both.by albatross - Ask the Experts

Re: Straight From the Trainers Mouth - 5 years ago
I like Improbable but since he is now the fashionable pick, it makes no sense. Financially speaking, my best winner would be Tax who I have in the double from the Oaks. And I didn’t single yesterday’s winner. As far as the comment, don’t get all banged up,nothing has to be that serious. Good Luck to youby albatross - Ask the Experts

You were with Baffert yesterday, Shug and The Big Mare as a lucky charm at GP. Naturally at the NCAA Tourney one Saturday, and had to watch the replays. When you cash your P6 ticket today will you be with an underworld spy, or the wife of a close friend?by albatross - Ask the Experts

I’ve talked to big Dale a few times through mutuel friends, nothing more, but he gets it. I read an interview where he said how well he’s done and can barely read or write. From Operater, Breeder, Owner, Trainer, rider, or any talking head, not one even mentioned the driver of the engine, the player one time. Good for him, and Tim Glyshaw. Re: KEE Thursday 8th - 5 years ago
Okay, I didn’t know that to be the case or even know A. Cox was a woman. What I don’t get is what seems to be several trainers that just keep running and rarely win. Jaime Mejia in Fl. Maybe he owns the Thoroughbred Champions Corp. He won the Hutcheson, granted a nice race, but they run hundreds of starters meet after meet at 4-5% win rate. Wayne Rice, The Rose Family Stable. KEE Thursday 8th - 5 years ago
I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a rider not make 124. A. Cox, not sure if kin to Brad Cox, might want to lose a pound or two. I guess trainer Wayne Rice didn’t want to reach out for a rider that could make 124, since the two are 0-27 at KEE. Son of Clyde Rice, brother of Linda and uncle of Trainer Kevin, and former rider Taylor, now married to Jose Ortiz. A useless observation, but just makeby albatross - Ask the Experts

Mr. Bee, you never disappoint, nice to see you rounding. It turns out that Mrs. Tross and the pooch will be driving back from Fl. a month early. Her own mother must have tossed her. Frank #1 Thanks for the link, good read #2 it’s nice to read Nicholas P Zito Is at least still on the payroll for The Whitney Team. Nick to me is as likable and hardworking as anyone on the backside. I started going to Preakness in 87 and made it for 4 or 5 years until I’d had enough. It is very sad, what has happened to Arlington, like Monmouth, not to mention Hialeah, all one time jewels.
