You really ought to invest in the NY Times, if you'd read this week, you'd know what I was talking about.

I am as far left as you will ever meet. I have never listened to or read anything by Alex Jones in my life.
However, I don't get my news from Bill Marher and John Oliver, I get it from actual new sources. That Soros was an active member of the NAZI party is a known fact. I would prefer that the list of greatest horses ever did not include one owned by a real honest to god NAZI. YMMV.

Smoking fast 1:38 mile...
I'm done I think, not one horse could run with him in a mile in 1:38? Not one?
I know, I know, track variant, raw times, but the horse has 1:37 median mile, from 6 races, 4 tracks, 3 states, and two surface conditions, and Bolt was destroyed by a 1:33 mile, and came home in...about 1:38. At some point, 1:38 is 1:38.

After Abel Tasman, I'm not feeling comfortable.
Regarding Restoring Hope's blinkers Baffert could be trying to have a plan B in case Justify spits the bit, but he could also be trying to create a more visually impressive lead by dulling him.
These opinions are solely my own.

It's been a long time since I posted, but I have some experience with professional human sports doping, so I thought I might contribute a little.
Regarding Justify, I've been convinced he's on a regimen since the foot problem. Most dopers shoot up in between their toes to hide the bruises. I imagine shooting up in a hoof is no different. If you shoot up into the most obvious pla

low red blood cell counts are red flags in human atheletes for recent cessation of epo. works the same in horses and other animals
a low red blood cell count is anemia.
low white blood cell counts can come from having had a bad infection. most other low white blood cell counts come from pretty serious things like leukemia

not sure why you are outraged at peta based on this. am surprised, given all you know about the dirty side of this sport, that you arent at least a little outraged by what is passing itself off as journalism regarding an issue that you care a lot about.

You're right that the strips aren't like lasix but 100% backwards as to why. all the strips do is help to keep the nasal passage open. they are exactly the same as the kind made for people to prevent snoring. you can test them yourself, just go to walgreens and buy a pack. also unlike lasix they have no ill effects on the horse.
usada and wada allow nasal strips for all human athlete

the language wasnt mine, i was quoting what was said on the tapes by blasi--did you watch it? if you dont like the language thinking it was mine, you should be outraged that it came out of blasi's mouth, in about every other word he uttered
if nbc had aired the tape, asmusen would be in jail right now and racing would be facing the wrath of the american public for animal abuse. it was ir

on second thought, i'd say they were running into strong cross winds for most of the race
crosswinds are even worse than headwinds, and would explain why no one seems to be able to agree on what direction the wind was blowing and why the worst efforts occurred in both stretches with decent efforts around each turn
ps: I dont have a dog in this fight. I watched the derby just like most

looking at the official chart, without considering the time, the race was run like a classic fast where the speed collapsed
2nd place went to a horse 18th at the half, 17th at the 3/4, & 11th at the mile
3rd place went to a horse 9th at the 1/2, 8th at the 3/4, & 5th at the mile
4th place went to a horse 12th the half, 11th at the 3/4, & 10th at the mile

yeah this is from 2009--i pulled the actual journal article a few years ago, it's online now.
you can read it here:
problems with the study:
despite 5 years, the study has not been replicated.
the sample size is too small to draw conclusions from.
because the data doesn't indicate each horse's individual lasix vs. saline outcomes, the results are meaningless. there

the significance of giving horses a weight loss drug is the power to weight ratio--the higher the ratio, the bigger the advantage, this is the primary purpose of GW1516 in cycling (alone or boosted by aicar):
"a synthetic substance which works on a muscle-building gene. It persuades the body to send more oxygen to the muscles by using up fat rather than carbohydrate or protein, which thus

not necessarily--they didn't race him on lasix as a 2 yo, and retied him sound instead of trying to squeak another win out of him...maybe the conversation/scenario with shug went something like this:
orb didn't bleed through his lasix until after the ky derby--maybe the first time was in the preakness
after the belmont, janey wants to retire orb due to bleeding through his lasix.

you can't judge a sire by his race record--this is the 3 yo old record of the best n. american sire:

1st wood memorial
9th ky derby
9th pa derby

he won both starts as a 2 yo--msw and laurel futurity
2014 stud fee--$150,000 dollars

has anyone heard the rumor that orb is a bad bleeder, bleeding through his lasix? i saw on bloodhorse that steve haskin confirmed he's heard the rumor. this is why horse racing needs to governed by the gaming authorities--keeping this kind of information from the bettors is akin to insider trading on the stock market.

i agree that the BC was run cleanly, or at least more cleanly than the majority of races the rest of the year.
i don't think that pletcher and baffert's poor showings were due to home track advantage or shipping.
how does home track advantage or shipping hold up with declaration of war or bgame on dude?

hello fairmount
it is true that using EPO overtime will stop your own body's production. the same thing happens with testosterone and even with things like chapstick (people who've used chapstick for a long time can't keep their lips unchapped without it).
your body senses that it has enough and stops making it--since the body is designed to maintain homeostasis if it can. b

the only investigations in human sports that were able to uncover cheating--besides the one-off positives of nobody athletes thrown under the bus to make the doping controls look legit, were those involving crimes investigated by police.

fwiw, looking at the super-sow-mo, magnified footage, it looks to me like saez pulls something off the knot in the reins with his right hand and moves it to his left hand, but it's not as obvious as the hand off between stevens and day in 1995...
putting a buzzer in the knot would be pretty smart if you could get it to stay there-- it's already on the neck where it needs to be, c

bigger muscles work against stamina--this is a well established fact.
sprinting is almost purely anerobic, and sprinters have huge thigh muscles because they need power, not endurance. distance runners are always lean--huge muscles waste energy.
i could be rude too, but i won't be--i'll just say that just because horses were huge in the 80's and 90's doesn't mean th

i don't know enough about genetically gifted weight lifters vs chemically created weight lifters, too be honest...i was kind of under the impression they were all chemically created. weight lifting, i believe, is mostly anaerobic, not aerobic--but it would still have a performance ceiling too--you run out of fuel pretty quickly in anaerobic activities and risk tearing your muscles if you pus

hyperbaric treatment saturates the body in oxygen, where as altitude training, like you said, de
