Go watch the Godolphin 7th race winner at Keeneland just now. Aussie Pride. Shot out of a cannon far turn. No worries from there.

I'm sure you enjoyed seeing the not on the finish line shutter cam angle that made one believe Dunbar Road had clearly won. You do wear the badge of distinction of being an Emperor of the Turf for your longstanding devotion and excellent opinions.

you may laugh but there are a large contingent of knowledgable bloodstock enthusiasts who will tell you with conviction that the Japanese have the best horses in the world. Check their record in Dubai last few years, Thing is nurses are so good there they're are limited incentives for them to travel

Following Sea showed none of his usual speed—maybe they wanted to avoid the duel which I’m sure Ron Anderson proffered. He got off the rail after his trouble. I have huge respect for everything you say on the board Joe, but I didn’t feel there was a real kick from him in the last 1/16th. Will have to look again at that. While you’re here, Ivar, one who you mentioned on this board pre race, was t

Edgeway had one of the best clocker reports entering the race for a guy Sadler who does very well when they train big. Yes she moved through inside but visually hit the quicksand and never was quickly dispatched.IMHO it was an optical illusion that she ran well inside. The other two were done.

Kimini was in the turf sprint. Had Wesley put her in the dirt race I believe she wins as she was much faster then Cee Cee and herself a wide sweeper. He said she wasn’t fit to run 7. She got beat a diminishing margin for a minor award looking every bit like a filly who needed more ground

Looking at the Saturday Del Mar charts this was one of the worst dead rail days we have seen for awhile. I didn't get there until the third so I missed the solid Baltas runner in the opener getting clear moving to rail then finishing last. Gamine, Jackie's Warrior were both beaten before they turned in. I was all set to make the (valid) point that in the old days of TG handicapping,

I know it's a busy day. But you have posted Woodbine analysis the majority of the year and today -on their biggest day of the year-- nothing? Do people really buy GP this time of year? You guys are running the business not me but .........

Agree with the writer who said having a crop might have allowed Prat to go left-handed.
How bad was NBC coverage not realizing an inquiry until more than 7 minutes passed and essentially at the same moments they made the dq. Truly poor coverage. The angle from behind the horses coming down the stretch is probably the definitive look. Of course they never showed that,
On a more upbeat note,

A very true comment in this thread about how the inside paths on anything but firm turf are not where you want to be. This is absolutely true. Moisture dries to the inside at both Keeneland and Churchill and it might as well be an X. In this weekends case, Keeneland to their credit labeled the course good. It had not dried out from the rains from the previous week.

Looking at the Thursday Pimlico analysis in the redboard room. The TG handicapper suggested a 4 horse box in race 8 and said the race had great value with prices. Talk about understatement. His picks ran 1-4 with a $23.40 winner. Exacta paid $660. Trifecta paid $1196 for 50 cents. Superfecta paid
$4492,FOR A DIME. Handicapping feat of the year in my book.

What has he done wrong in his career. Just made the first jump and this late in the year why can't he pair? You can say the same thing about Brett Calhoun's horse. There's a price that makes both of these horses viable as win bets.Oh and in a non sheets related aspect, you are potentially looking at a strong and hot pace

Ellis - 3 years ago
Thank you for going the Ellis route as opposed to Arlington. While everyone is rightly focused on the Spa, your Ellis analyst delivered a $32 best bet and an $18 best bet-trained by Brad Cox , no less. Also cold early double worth 60 and several exactas. Made my weekend.

I’m serious. So thanks to your handicapper On the radio show (Roger?) who gave out a nice $49 exacta on a two horse box in Santa Anita. I say they don’t deserve you because this puke racing at Anita is so bad, and the fields so short that you would be better off adding Golden Gate as your main Ca product. Considering all horses were off for two months, the product we are getting is just path

He’s at best serviceable. Has a really bad habit of attempting to inflect his voice in a way that leads you to thing certain things will happen in a race. That’s fine. Trevor Denman did it successfully for most of his career. This guy is right only about 25% of the time Do us a favor and just document the event. Leave your poor opinions out of the call

So if anything Sister Charlie is suspiciously lightly raced this year. Magical has run 11 times and the Filly and Mare turf will be her third race in 4 weeks. The Ascot turf this past Saturday was closer to heavy then soft and she rolled looking classy against inferior opposition. Santa Anita turf would be expected to be polar opposite. The big question as Jerry usually points out will be is she

Full disclosure that this post, of course, triggered a very good day on Saturday for the Arlington analysis. Some of us who think we know it all more likely know nothing. That said, I would do your Arlington analysis for no compensation for a week or two to see if I can do better. Again no ill will meant towards anyone
