Ukraine Relief - 2 years ago
In the two weeks since Russia attacked Ukraine, more than 1.6 million Ukrainians have crossed into Poland but so far there are no refugee camps in Poland. Instead, Poles began mobilising from the very first days of the war to receive refugees, with thousands offering rooms in their homes, while others drove to the border to pick up Ukrainian families, cooked warm meals or collected medical suppliby Frank - Ask the Experts

High Roller, The one race a year with 20 horses and huge pools. The best chance a gambler has to make a real hit and you're on this site calling it a shame. Covelj50, Good luck with River Rocks in the Lexington. Hope to see you in the winner's circle. Frankby Frank - Ask the Experts
Re: Help! I hit the Super. - 12 years ago
All these IRS horror stories make me even prouder to be a Canadian. Had a poster on this board, an American citizen, come visit last fall and spend the evening at Woodbine. He showed us local hayseeds how to handicap hitting a very substantial pick 4. He was very happy to find out no tax deducted, no ID required. O Canada... Frankby Frank - Ask the Experts

Silver Charm wrote: "Raining now down here and may persist off and on. Just heard from a Trainer the track was pretty wet now." I just heard the same thing from a non-Trainer (a Janitor, in fact). The rain is falling out of the sky, hitting the ground, and making it wet. Like you, the Janitor is unsure whether the rain will persist off and on or simply persist on.by Frank - Ask the Experts

P Dub, I agree with everything you say about Zenyatta, clearly without argument one of the greatest champions in the history of horseracing. It also is very clear that a taunting flag should have been thrown against Rick B but just let it go. Let the haters keep chirping. Frankby Frank - Ask the Experts
Re: Keenland Sale - 13 years ago
Strongly disagree. The global bottom line of horse owners would suggest that most yearlings are vastly overvalued.by Frank - Ask the Experts
Re: Keenland Sale - 13 years ago
It's very easy to understand if by 'this industry' you are referring to the breeding industry. If it's racehorse ownership that you're referring to then rising yearlings prices is terrible news. Owners, who collectively lose astronomical amounts of money, would be much better served by continued declining sales results and lower stud fees. Frankby Frank - Ask the Experts

I'm surprised it took this long to get your response. How is paying more for our product, the racehorse, supposed to be good for our industry, which I'm assuming is racing? Frankby Frank - Ask the Experts
Mike Mitchell at Del Mar - 13 years ago
Congratulations to my friend and trainer Mike Mitchell on a fantastic Del Mar meet. Mike was leading trainer with 25 winners from only 81 starters, an over 30% winning percentage. Mike is also the all time leading winner in Del Mar history with 454 wins. Frankby Frank - Ask the Experts

Lost Cause, Once I got past the language differences between their English and ours it wasn't complicated at all. From what I've been reading they will make the necessary changes so that us not so smart North Americans can understand. Frankby Frank - Ask the Experts
Re: Betting Exchanges , be careful what you wish for - 13 years ago
Lost Cause, I've been playing at Betfair for many years. My experience with them has been outstanding. Most of my plays are against bad favourites but there are also excellent alternative prices available on big race days such as Breeders Cup. I believe that betting exchanges represent an opportunity to help revive a dying sport. Frankby Frank - Ask the Experts

Thanks for the kind words but it appears to be a non event. Miff proposes a format that is unacceptable to me and he doesn't appear all that interested in my ideas. We're also $90K apart in the proposed stakes, he being the high man. Not dead yet though. Frankby Frank - Ask the Experts

Cartman, I agree with your Zenyatta race analysis. It was a terrible setup for her without any pace and her last 5/16's was extremely fast. This is a spectacular mare without any reservations or conditions. Frankby Frank - Ask the Experts

Re: The definition of stupidity - 15 years ago
P-Dub, Apologies for my stupidity in thinking that Smalltimer was being serious. SC, Flawlessly was indeed a magnificent race horse. But your thinking that Zenyatta needs to do more to be labeled great because she's been running on synthetic is absurd. Racing on synthetic is no less relevant than any other racing. It's just a different surface. Using a football analogy, are Barry Sby Frank - Ask the Experts
Re: The definition of stupidity - 15 years ago
'Too bad Rachel has proven everything and Zenyatta has proven nothing.' Seems a little harsh. Somewhere in those 11 straight Z must have proven something even to those who have yet to seen the light regarding synthetics.by Frank - Ask the Experts

I can't imagine a scenario where RA would skip the BC excepting injury of course. Her Keeneland race as a 2YO removes any doubt that she can run on the synthetic surface. I look forward to a showdown with a hopefully still undefeated Zenyatta. Sure would add some juice to the Friday card.by Frank - Ask the Experts
