It takes 4-8 weeks for the split sample, so hypothetically, he could win the Preakness and Belmont and get DQ'd from the Triple Crown for a drug positive, Just when you thought the game hits rock bottom, look out below. Baffert taking us on a ride...

Apparently TG has this fig higher than Beyer for a huge improvement. Beyer was wrestling with the number.

Why is everyone overweight to 120 lbs today in the races where the assigned weights are less?

Yes, I'm using him because he broke outwards terribly in the FOY and jock had to take a hold, and now drops to the rail. Second race around 2 turns should improve.

In the Ascot closer I bet Addeyeb at 9-1 (results still show final odds at 9-1) and the win mutuel was 12.00!
Chatted w/Twin Spires and was told United Tote NOT updating pools, so good luck with Ascot. Lots of rain forecast on the tophat show.

Let's make a list of the races where a foul of this sort is worthy of a DQ, and another list where fouls of this sort do not apply.

Except for Eragon, who was eased in the first Pegasus, this is the first year we have some real competitive entrants who get in very light by declining lasix. Weight dropped is versus last effort:
Turf:
Magic Wand: -8 lbs
Channel Maker: -9 lbs
Aerolith: - 9lbs
Dirt: all using lasix

If you think about it, the BC was way ahead of its time: a large festival of G1 races clustered around a big event day.

This was a key prep for the BC Classic so I'm interested in the board's perspective. West Coast given a lot of credit for the effort until I see the final 3f run in 40+ seconds. No one finished. And how do they open the gate when the top horse in the country is having a fit? They could have given him at least a few seconds to settle down, vs. 0.5 second. Maybe he deserves more credit fo

Awesome and spot on Mr. Hellmers. This is the chapter on "Move Up Trainers" which must be written and this problem is evident at all class levels in this game. We know the names.
Where are the whistleblowers who may be witnessing the alleged dispensings of the PEDS? This can't be done in a vacuum.

Since 2000: Last race prior to Belmont:
18 Belmonts:
9 from Derby (50%)
3 from Preakness (Point Given, Afleet Alex, AP)
2 from Peter Pan
4 from other races
Derby is the last best prep for the Belmont.

FWIW- he semi-jumped the shadow of the starter's stand at the end of the BG and hopped back on his left lead, otherwise his finish might have looked more impressive.

Can someone confirm that there was a minor physical issue that caused him to miss 2 workouts in January, which he references here at 3:30 in the BG post-race interview:

Only 17/33 BC Juvenile winners made it to the Derby. Two of the last 4 BC Juvenile winners who started have won (Nyquist/Street Sense), and Classic Empire was best of his class if not for his injuries and horrific Derby trip. Many of the others were not stayers at all or had poor preps etc. My sense is that in this new generation of fewer preps, legitimately fast BC Juvenile winners/contenders s

I have 1 ticket in our seven man box in the Stretch Run section 9H for $1,000 (our cost). One of the guys had to cancel. We're a fun group and we were part of the p6 cartel w/Mazur last year. Meet some new degenerates!
I also have 6 seats in adjacent rows in Clubhouse Reserved section 3. These are $500/each for the two-days so looking to sell the lot for $3,000. I paid $2,800.

Andy on Byk this morning justifying the fig since he can't elevate the show horse going from 70 (last dirt) to 96 Beyer if the winner were to get the raw 113.
