Re: Hey guys... - 2 years ago
With all the computer tech we have , couldn't they synthesize Fred Capossela's voice and have the AI call the race off the Trackus data? Bet money it would be better than what we usually get.by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts

I think I started using the 6f times off 7f races when they cut back , over 40 years ago . Not much new under the sunby Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Re: EVERYBODY KNOWS... - 2 years ago
To my eye, that was a death defying move at the 1/8 pole, he barely tipped out enough to fly past the stopper on the rail. When they talk about running through a brick wall, thats what they meanby Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts

I dont understand the question. How is it not possible from his past running lines ?by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Re: Derby Picks - 2 years ago
for the DERBY 80-1 is like 200-1 Prob the only reason it was even that price is 90% of the crowd can't count that high Has no one nicknamed this the Blackjack Derby yet ?by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts

I'm sure. Was speaking more generally, since he mostly develops his own , you don't get to see a big jump up , as you do from a claiming barnby Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts

They just busted a pack of Quarter horse trainers for using magic powder. This Rosendo Valdez clown had 50% winners and earned over 2 million in 2021, much of it for his FATHER as the owner.by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Re: Paulick on late money - 2 years ago
Interesting theory, but not sure you can cancel a 5000 bet all at once at a teller. If someone knows differently .... Might be possible to do it at a hub though.by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Got the Bends ? No more - 2 years ago
I confess to not paying a lot of attention to the bends announcements in NY, but Im sure some of you do. According to this, they are no more as of July.by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Re: Late Money - NYRA - 2 years ago
speaking of first on the planet didnt watch the last two days, but seeing some differences in the pool distribution today. new meet, maybe they changed something EDIT: gonna keep watching , this 5th race was old school exacta smash you like that 2-1 over 36 -1 , coming back$ 52 was 136 before they crushed the 5 AND the 2 in the exby Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Re: Paulick on late money - 2 years ago
Most of the time, a punch like that will be an adjustment to the other pools, that's a given . The question is, how did the other pools get to where THEY were. Something the twitter crowd seems to have overlooked. Knocking the win price down at the very end like that never made a lot of sense on the face of it , you're just encouraging normal people to bet at the higherby Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Re: Late Money - NYRA - 2 years ago
Not sure when o_crunk posted, but I think I was the first one on the planet to mention the win pool thing at NYRA, day 1 . Right here on the TG board Of course the win pool has completely changed character since the cutoff. I find it a bit odd too, that they haven't adapted better.by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Paulick on late money - 2 years ago
I'll add this . No one on the inside looking to make a score would be waiting until the last 30 seconds . And they aren't betting that kind of money based on any 'value' scenario.by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Race 1 Aqu pool crazyness - 2 years ago
This is the kind of thing that goes unnoticed and unreported Huge exacta punch on the 12 (potts) and 11 (Joe lee 286 days off) 12 off at 6/5 in the exacta and 5/2 (already low) to win . 12/11 was paying 26 , bet down from 100 on the last flash. 5/2 over 11-1 in an 11 horse field. heh. Both off the board and the OTHER Potts jogs at 7/2 You tell me if anyone couldby Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts

Re: Tampa Bay Derby - 2 years ago
I'm not, just eyeballing the other races and the times , and watching. No one asked for anything until pretty late in the race. Cakewalk for the winner, best or not.by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Re: Lezcano - 2 years ago
Unfortunate opaque response from the stewards on this today. " No action, but we're still looking" ? And no other color .by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
Re: Lezcano - 2 years ago
Not quite. The looking behind was until just past the 1/4 pole, He rode hard thru the stretch. Many on twitter calling for investigations and claiming the fix was in. Doubt it. There should be an explanation demanded though, as that looked ridiculous.by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts

I recall giving Dave a wide berth as he moved gingerly to the windows from the walking ring at Saratoga back in the day, $100 bills clutched in hand. Often seemed to be on a mission , and didn't want to get in his way. Few pictures, but found this one, in case folks don't remember Dave. He was kind of an early version of , well, you know. Why its harder to win vs the bots - 2 years ago
First two races at the Big A 1st Public had the Ex $23, bots took it to 12 at the bell 2nd Public had the Ex $100 (opened 190), bots took it to 50 at the bell Win pool better these days, but trust me, the exactas get hammered. and no , they dont always win , but when they do, you lose a lot of juice.by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts

Broberg was useless and hapless in NY Any reason why that would be the case?? Seems to have abandoned the circuit for now. Would have thought the lower class winter racing would suit just fine .by Boscar Obarra - Ask the Experts
