Pat Cummings tells the story of pool manipulation and Will Rogers Downs"
"In April 2021, at least three instances of tote pool manipulation occurred in quinella pools at Will Rogers Downs in Oklahoma.
Extremely large wagers, relative to the size of the overall pool, were placed on combinations likely to lose, inflating the actual tote returns on more favored horses.

As best I can tell, no language regarding race day lasix, though I read it quickly. McConnell told me he plans on trying to pass it this year and will raise the issue with Pelosi soon. I've covered the Hill for a long time and I suspect it's a reach -- no cosponsors from MD, FL, LA, for instance. But we'll see.

I’m assuming the middle pick four at Churchill will come up light after the analysis pegged the first two legs. Nice job

I will give credit where credit is due. Alan or whomever did the Spa analysis yesterday put up a nice 3-horse exacta box that paid $300 and set me up for this weekend's trip to Saratoga. It recommended the 41-1 shot that got DQed the other day.
So while it can be a little spotty sometimes, I have made some nice hits using TG plays while listening to trip handicappers as well.

Newsflash: Despit some recent and mostly superficial improvements Laurel is a dump too. And way too small to host an event like the Preakness.

The line on Quietude, who won at AQ at 60-1 actually looked very positive. Slow pair (23), then a jump to a faster pair (17.75/17.5) with today's jump (with weight and a good rail) not wholly out of the question. Didn't see him getting all the way there but at those odds...
And if you believe the quarter point move theory that Rag players talk about....

Brutal - 5 years ago
Well, Fox Rules gave those of us who used the AQ analysis to play the Pick six a thrill but that was a brutal beat.

Are revived NYRA credits also good for BEL or just KEE?

How do we read a horse like Slick Silver off an 03X to start his career?

Sad! No redboarding then but the BEL sheets yesterday were key to the very logical 10/1 and 15/1 horses in the early P5. And then low and behold they were picked in the analysis.

On the bright side, there's a pretty good chance of an almost $3M pick5 carryover

Would have been a good day to buy the sheets. That P4 would have been a nice present

So the late pick 5 at LRL yesterday had a $15.9K pool but paid $9.5K. for 0.50. I can only assume one of the winners was in Canada. Any other explanation?

So, the test to see whether I've done this correctly -- I signed in through a tab I clicked on while on Thorograph -- is to see whether I get a $25 TG credit after my first $25 wager?

Hoo boy. The good news is that Baltimore really grooves on its big event and the place doesn't go out of its way to rip you off. I go on Black-Eyed Susan Day each year, and would really recommend it. All of the atmosphere but not very crowded, not too long between races, and always a good card. Your options also broaden considerably, and admission is far cheaper and seats are easy to get.

Last post (the 12TH!) is 6:55. What are these people doing?
I'm from the Albany area. In the old days (for me, late-70s) I recall 1:30 pm first post and 30 minutes between races. That was when they were still saddling them under the trees.
They should chop the meeting to 30 days and run 5 days a week IMHO.

I went to Ctby on the Friday night before the 2008 GOP convention (covering, not attending). It had a great, happy hour feel of casual fans and horrible, unbettable racing. I soon went downstairs and played poker. Got AA cracked by KK on the river.

A family friend, John Jude Cassidy, was the first bartender at Siro's in the summer of 1978 I believe. It was a single bar and bartender and the crowd maxed out at less than 100. I recall a board atop two tall barrels as a bar and drinks were like $2.
Jack said he new Affirmed had run down Sensitive Prince in the Jim Dandy by the roar of the crowd. After died a few years back we gathered

Hey TGJB --
You may need a special notation for horses ridden by the Patin brothers. Even as they and their co-conspirator stiffed 3 horses by 17 lengths or more in a 6-horse field they botched fixing the race.

On the people paddock issue, I think NYRA will quickly learn that there will be a lot of price resistance and empty tables. I'll bet that it will be virtually empty on weekdays...

I actually have a nice TheSheets shirt that Hardoon gave me a ways back. Secretariat's sheet (not hand written, alas) was on the back.
