He might be a world class technology industry analyst doing a good job of making new friends and learning new industries, just in case a guy named Warren doesn't take to him. Oxbow, not much chance since I played him in pool one. It will be intersting to hear JB's opinion of his pattern in the Derby Seminar.by Tavasco - Ask the Experts

KEE 9th 4/26/2013-Elkhorn I'm not looking at the sheets for this race but will someone who figured this one out, clue me in. Or do I have to wait till tomorrow to get the analysis to see once again how sharp TG is or....data anomaly To the simple minds, horse cannot beat 50K claimers @GP, rest him, add Rosario magic (which doesn't make them run faster just longer) come back in G2by Tavasco - Ask the Experts
I say benefits, I didn't mean wins. A fast pace eliminates all the wanna be close up ones except the survivor.by Tavasco - Ask the Experts
Rarely do I see a Baffert horse taken back. I see Govenor Charlie as a key pace factor. Remember last year when lightly raced Bodemeister was thought to be compromised by the presence of Trinniberg and he ran that one off his feet. I expect the same strategy. How else can he win. Those who expect a slow pace will be surprised. Catch me if you can. SoCal racing. Stevens will try a winning cby Tavasco - Ask the Experts
From Churchill Downs Site - Road To The Derby... Orb is infused with an abundance of stamina from his dam, Lady Liberty, who won over as far as 1 1/2 miles on turf. She is by champion Unbridled, hero of the 1990 Kentucky Derby and Breeders' Cup Classic. From me... This one may or may not have the good fortune component needed to win this derby, but with continued good health, Orb willby Tavasco - Ask the Experts
Are you confident that the 1-1/4 is to Orb's advantage? Who else do you expect to be still running in the last 1/8 of a mile?by Tavasco - Ask the Experts
Sightsound, For me, what you had to say was neither here nor there simply an opinion. However, how you expressed yourself came across as obnoxious, belligerent and angry. Frankly, you soured a community which is otherwise cooperative and respect full. Consider.... a need to be right causes one to make others wrong! Most would rather win. i.e. Have success. I'll preface by saying, I THINK, trainers who cheat with PEDs should be labeled thieves rather than cheats. Furthermore, those that employ thieves are also thieves and deserve to be put in the spotlight. This week the board was full of chatter about hard facts (chemistry, admissions, etc) vs circumstantial cases creating belief and/or illusion of theft by trainers with jump up performancesby Tavasco - Ask the Experts
Jim your posts on this board have convinced me you are credit to the sport and this community. It is with respect I pass on advice given me by sages decades ago. When in doubt..... don't! With the rest of your well wisher - I say best of luck.by Tavasco - Ask the Experts
I liked and agreed with the analysis. What I didn't understand was how he had traffic problems when there was only one other in the same zip code heading down the stretch. He just seemed awkward and slow until mid-stetch when he looked a beast like his sire. Appears he'll get better with distance and/or grass. My guess is Hollendorfer would enjoy some purchase offers. So I watched and played the Japan Cup last night and saw two of the most interesting events I've ever seen in Thoroughbred Racing. I tuned in late in the card ... about the 7th or 8th race. My kind of contest, about 20 entries per race with all kinds of big prices (not much like Hollywood). So in my first attempt I play a three horse exacta box the 11, 13, 15 I think - one (the 13 @ 25/1by Tavasco - Ask the Experts
I don't think Hessonite is capable of competing at the 1 1/4 mile distance. Her sire progeny (Freud) have an average winning distance around 6F. Very sprint oriented. However, speaking of noticeable rides (good bad or just noticeable) I saw Edgar Prado boot one home Wednesday or Thursday on the turf by doing a Borel on the last turn before angling out to pass the last couple. Nice going Pletcher! Of course I saved with a show bet on Called To Serve @ Mountaineer.by Tavasco - Ask the Experts
I think this is a fascinating race. I categorize it as a lesser of dummies race. Mr. Pletchers challenge is how to beat RTG since he can't run away on the lead with Rule. So he enters CE (with sprinter quickness) to absolutely guarantees a suicidal pace. The meltdown is most certain anyway with two have to lead types and a couple more want to lead if they can. So the first 80% of the racby Tavasco - Ask the Experts
Be sure to watch the video replay of #14 Accent's prior race. Turf only I doubt if late running style suits an off track. I have been looking forward to this ones return hoping (dreaming) for 10/1. Since it doesn't look like I'll get near my price I'm happy share my disappointment from her last start.by Tavasco - Ask the Experts
I believe the pace scenario is: Trinniberg probably runs with the real pacesetters Hansen & Take Charge Indy. Trinniberg is done after 6F and finishes last. What is not so obvious is who is ABLE TO press the pace of Hansen and/or Take Charge Indy. EL Padrino handled TCI when TCI had to go fast in the GP allowance. And of course Union Rags has pressed both Hansen & TCI. Once missing by a hby Tavasco - Ask the Experts
Thank you Dr. Hansen for sending your beautiful horse to the Kentucky Derby. It leads me to speculate; In addition to the 10 horses who are not legitimate contenders anyway, Hansen's need to lead eliminates another half dozen who would just be commute traffic with a slower pace. So when the race really starts, at the head of the stretch, on May 5 - I just need to figure out the ordeby Tavasco - Ask the Experts
