I must be hallucinating-today's late pick 4 at SA- two 6-5 shots, a 4-1 shot and a 5/2 shot paid more than 6k for a 50 cent bet--checked both equibase and DRF-as the lottery commercial in NY says "hey, you never know!" Explanation appreciated!

the analysis that came with the derby sheets is just that-an analysis-it doesn't tell you who or how to wager-the separate daily CD picks for yesterday manifestly absolutely, positively, unambiguously advised customers to use CC ( favorite) with the four he mentioned in the analysis.TGJB (a friend) needs no help from me re his reputation or success level. But since this Board (which I infrequ

There you go again! They never said CC WAS A THROW OUT. And the spread they gave out specifically advised to use CC with the 34-1 CC. MY guess is they did not bet a nickel to place-- but given the units TGJB usually bets even if he "saved" with a CC - CC EXACTA that is a pretty good " score" .

Actually I am pretty certain they are celebrating. I you review the TGJB derby analysis, he loved---Loved- the 17 horse and gave out a 5'horse spread with CC- a $330 exacta with the favorite. Not shabby when he puts his reputation on the line and goes public with such a bomb. The fact that he properly analyzed that CC was no faster than others does not diminish how good the analysis was.

Having had more than a passive involvement in this litigation Moosepalm is likely spot on. The decision to unpublish the previous decision is likely the result of several of the Supreme Court justices who wanted to hear the appeal(Jerry needed 4)imposing that requirement. Present company excepted, Jerry was well represented throughout and the system simply failed him. As I know from 44 years of l

HR-I have been a Tgraph user from early on and in the interest of full disclosure a friend of Jerry's. Let me suggest a more scientific approach to determining the merits of the respective products. With 3 weeks left in the meet, buy both products everyday ( with an email nickname like High Roller should be no problem for you). And when the meet is over let us all know how many times either

With respect to the bizarre last 6 furlongs I offer the opinion of a published professional handicapper- Steve Davidowitz- who sat next to me at the Belmont. He can only explain what occurred by labeling the track as speed favoring for the Belmont ( dusty and no cushion according to him at post time) with a no passing lane. Oxbow was done after a pressured grueling half but other than PM no one

Dutrow Appellate Division Decision-in full
For those interested, the link to the recent Appellate Division decision re Dutrow is attached. The next step in the judicial process is for Dutrow to seek leave to appeal to New York's highest Court, the Court of Appeals. There is no automatic right for Dutrow to appeal. His attorneys (represented by a first rate firm) must make a motion seeking

The coverage by DRF of the Udall hearings is a disgrace and Matt Haggerty should be embarrassed. The article about the hearings is buried on page 17 of the Saturday edition and utterly fails to convey any sense of the magnitude of the problem the Udall commission was investigating or the testimony of those supporting Udall's concerns. Historically, the DRF has ho-hummed its way through the

The statute giving NYRA a cut of Genting's take is specifically limited to VLT's-video lottery terminals. If Cuomo gets his wish of full fledged casino all deals are off and a new negotiation by NYRA (however constituted) will have to take place. We will likely get a wiff of the future by the results of the search for a new CEO. Cuomo has a lot invested in obtaining passage of new legis

As a general rule, in the absence of a specific statutory prohibition to the contrary (i.e.-certin types of real estate contracts) the statute of frauds only applies when the contract in question is not capable of being performed within a year. With the Kentucky statute in question no longer an impediment to the demonstration of the formation of a contractual relationship between Jerry and his a

When analyzed both horses were brilliantly managed from both a business and racing perspective. Until yesterday Zerella had NOT beaten a field of more than 8 (making yesterdays performance that much more impressive) and never (still) left the comfort of Southern Cal. and the synthetic tracks. Sheriffs and Moss were masterful in concluding they had nothing to lose by running yesterday and the deci

I thought the ABC-ESPN coverage of the races was simply awful and took away much of joy in watching two days of great racing. The camera angles were a novelty but hardly useful for spotting any horse you were following until the turn-the angles used around the turn left you wondering where the top of the stretch was and there was not one--not one-immediate replay of a single stretch run of any ra

If you take Jackson at his word that RA will not run in the BC my view is he should say that's it for this year. RA came into the Woodward with a negative 4 off the Haskell--yesterday one of 2 things happened both of which suggest that sound management is to give her a break until next year. If she paired up (hard to believe she moved forward) thats 2 humongous efforts which cry out for a

Since I am one of the many horseplayers who believe Dutrow (among others) is not a good guy and really bad for the sport, the question no one has asked is why he chose to take the horse off steroids and why he chose to make the announcement. There are several posssibilities that come to mind. 1. He tought the horse (and the trainer) could win without; or 2. there were other (undetectable) miracle

you make the point-the steroid scandal in baseball is beginning to unravel-and in baseball is easier to hide the use since you can do it at home-horses cant be drugged in (fill in the name of trainer) bedroom.

I preface this email by stating that I firmly believe that illegal drug use "appears" to be rampant in horse racing. Many of us look at the same data, whether it be TG numbers, win percentages (regardles of category),the lack of a bounce where there was almost always a bounce and the like. What I find difficult to reconcile, is that if drug use is so prevalent why hasn't a single p

The various discussions on this and other websites of the drug use by various trainers is troubling on many levels and I am curious as to the views of the regulars on this site to the following: I believe drug use is rampant and we can all probably agree on those trainers who have cheated.(I respectfully suggest that those of you who do not believe that drug use is rampant are in denial). Some anectodal evidence over why midas eyes went off at 7/2. I was at sar. sat. and 2 of my friends are ragozin users. I made the passing comment about frankel pairing up so often and a pair up on tgraph made him an obvious bet.
