Ctc, As an old Harness Racing Guy, the guy indicted with the Uvari team, Rene Poulin, has been involved in 2 previous racing scandals and has lost his licence at least twice. This guys has been a notorious fixer/"Shaker" back in the early 80's in harness racing. He was part of the scandal that cost Herve Filion et al...Anyway, seems like even when they are suspended they keep comiby NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts
CtC, You asked the question I've been wondering about for quite some time, ( unless your hooked up on the backside), how do we who wager from States like NC and don't have backside conections get the info on vets? Any suggestions? And is the White Mercedes the guy I think it is? Anyone? NCTonyby NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts

SC, I agree with you SC (for whatever that's worth) and also thought BOS ran a very strong race considering he was pressing the pace of that sprinter and then faced pressure the entire stretch. Was not surprised that the horse Prado was on ran big either or that Purge ran another clunker. Frankel usally has them ready to run (no matter what he is suspected of doing). PVal is the Steve Howe of Jockeys. Yes its a disease, and I hope he overcomes it, but would you or I get that many chances on our jobs? We would be lucky to get one chance.by NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts
Im just glad he lucked out on the day I bet him in the National Pic 3. So what is the consencus on MD these days? still a Mad Genious trainer or is he over hyped?by NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts
I've been going to the SPA every year as well, especially enjoy the last weekend (Labor Day). Get away weekend is more laid back, usually has many good prices and overlays, as well as reasonable crowd size to deal with, after the Travers euphoria is over. IMO its easier to concentrate and handicap that week with horses showing form, trainers trying to get out and certain handicappers tryinby NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts

I thought the BEST HIDDEN FIG this weekend was Medalist in the 6F Stakes Sprint at Calder vs an avaerage Bunch. Compare that Fig vs DRF (Beyers) was a major reason why the horse paid $11.60by NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts
Silver, Thanks for the info- yes Im a History nut ans stats geek, thats probably why I like TG as much as I do(besides the data being very good). Been very busy at work as our business was sold and we have new owners to deal with. Had a VG weekend this past one.Cha Ching. Tonyby NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts

The sad thing is that the technology to put sensors sililar to GPS technology (ie see Keeneland experiment this year) is there. I would suspect the intial start up cost is prohibitive to most small tracks.by NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts
Jimbo, If you take the typical two points for Lasix and you use your head a little, (ie 3rd vs Boys in 19 horse Arc) and if you saw the race, you might come to that conclusion. Yes Timeform ratings I think are more reliable from what I have seen so far (IMO) for Euro's coming over to US. (see magistretti's Euro Figs vs US Figs for example for difference) And it was $47K not $49 (my mby NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts
For what it was worth concerning a bet against Ouija Board here is some food for thought. The best value bet of the day turned out to be Ghostzapper and Oujia Board. If your playing pic 4's Single Ouija Board xALLxAllxGhostzapper (Cost $64 for $1 bet) You collect $49,000. I am the idiot. The figures clearly showed they would be standout. SilverCharm, He certainly has the right running style to have an impact in this race. The horse has been good to me all year. Zito has been hot lately too. Have enjoyed your posts over the years BTW. I Guess now they have a better excuse to still be Eclipse award winner and still lose on BC day. If they lose in the Distaff, they may not win the award depending on who beats her. This way she's protected and they can say well at least she tried to beat the boys.by NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts

He has already burned a lot of BC money the past two years and the trainer just broke his "ohfer" the year recently. Yes he's a consistant horse but re watch the Saratoga race and also count on a much harder Campaign than the rest. He does travel well. Oh by the way didn't he get beat by Freeforinternet? At least for this year she appears she needs 30+ days rest to run another good fig race. For instance, after running a good race in the Go for Wand she came back on less than 3 weeks and got beat by SFF. Then she got 44 days rest and ran a big race at Keeneland albeit vs easy competition, never extending herself really hard. Now she comes back again in 20 days. If she follows that pattern shes aby NoCarolinaTony - Ask the Experts
