Let me suggest the possibity that there is another way to look at Kiss A Native, who I'm not suggesting anyone bet to win unless he is cose to double or the ML,although moi will be keying him in exotics at the action bet level. When KAN started getting good near the end of his 3yr campaign, he ran what for him was a dramatic new top off a 1st time bl. race at Mon. Less than 3 weeks later he improved 1 1/4 to run another new top, which he then matched 3 weeks later in a 5L win. When he started to get good near the end of his 4yr campaign, (keeping in mind that the biggest improvement for most horses is between 3&4 and the breeding stats suggest that may be particularly true for KK offspring) he equalled his 3yr top at 1 1/16 & then equalled it less than 5 weeks later at an unsuitable distance, running 2nd against one of best Fla sprinters. A mere 14 days later he improved 2 pts to his present top. Given his line, I would not be surprised if he was entered in the turf race both to take a shot because of his present good form & because trainer White thought he needed a race. I'm concerned about the fact that there are a lot of very fast horses in the race and that he has run a lot of races in a relatively short period, but I don't see anything in his spacing to indicate that he needs more time to recover.
The post is an obvious concern, but with KAN's style CV can be expected to take him back & save ground around the 1st turn, or at least that's what I thought when I looked at what he's done since he picked up the mount 3 races ago. He needs some luck around the 2nd turn & in the lane, but CV is braver than most & the jockey stats indicate that he is at his best riding from off the pace. horses.
