So, Why don't these great horses ever ship to the Breeders Cup? Particular Black Caviar when racing?

I have seen way to many comments over the years about what happened after the finish line in a race. To me, it has never made much sense, nor made an difference in the next race. I also, don't regard trainers saying "He wasn't even breathing hard" after the race, same issue, doesn't mean a thing next time out. IMO.

Question - am alive in the special Pick 3, have the 1 & 7 in the Turf race. They scratched my #1 Deauville. In the old days of Pick 6, if your horse scratched they gave you the post time favorite in the place of the scratched horse. Is that the case on this Pick 3? or they credit back? Need to know if I'm routing for Beach Patrol or not after all. Or am stuck with only one horse #7

Workouts sometimes help, but anyone recall the great workout of Groovy? Prepping for the 1987 Breeders Cup Sprint, he was shooting bullets like crazy. I recall 3 Furlongs @ 32 or 33 plus, 4 furlongs @ 42 or 43. But the 3 furlong bullets made him look like a Mortal Lock. Heavy favored Groovy was upset in the Breeders' Cup Sprint, finishing second by four lengths to the filly Very Subtle.

OK, have to share this. AP Race 8 - Stars & Stripes Handicap, post #7 a horse called Feodor. Check out his running lines, as have never seen anything like this in my life. Is this the greatest races ever??? most likely not, but kind of funny.
2 1/4 Miles Allowance on 9/7/14 @ "Mm" racetrack, never heard of before, but this horse drew off to a 49 3/4 victory! NOT a typo. the

there was $260K to show on Closed Hatches when I bet the pool on the eventual winner. Think only $290K total in the show pool. it was classic, but you don't find those too often, just dumb luck when you spot it.

wouldn't the offical who checks the horses tatoo number under his lip be close enought to know if any horse has the strip on? Seems pretty easy to me. I mean, that offical is there to make sure the horse who is registred of the race, is the one saddled for the race & not a ringer.

I've attended many Cups @ many venues. If you love to bet horses, drink beer, eat food then stay away from the Breeder's Cup! They just can't seem to get it right. The Cup was much better in the late 80's & early 90's as to the activities I listed above. Living Room Downs for me, as boycotting the Cup since Lone Star in 2004. They just can't seem to handle t

Wondering how it is handled in the futures betting for the exactas. As very well possible the Derby exacta can be field/field. However, that is not one of the betting options allowed in the futures pools.
As I look @ the future pools exacta payouts, there is NOT field/field payout. But they took plenty of wagers on everything else.
Seems illegal to take bets without the possib

I have a bunch of the Derby covers in storage & would have to check for that years issue. It will be a while before I could get to that box. Post remodeling & unpacking, ect, ect.
If he has a quick deadline, I won't be able to help out.

They have been dropping like flies the last few weeks. I am feeling lucky as I took Candy Boy @ 100-1 in January. I jumped on him after seeing his turn of foot on the Cash Call. Enough for me to jump in then. Been fortunate to keep him in training, it is all luck when betting in January futures.
Good luck to all & we will see what happens the first Saturday in May.

I have been watching & been enjoyable. Yes, they are getting better. Not sure how they picked the cast of characters, but the young 23 year old, who didn't have the entry fee for Del Mar contests, is a $10 bettor! Seems kind of odd/low for a show about high stakes racing? Really, ten bucks?

Damn, again!
Seems it is time for the Illinois tracks to put pig/hog production farms on those properties, or at least on the perimeter to stink up the neighborhoods. These track properties are zoned agricultural, so all legal & would make a statement to Springfield. Get the local neighbors all pissed off about hog farming in their back yards! The gang is Springfield won't address

Last time I attended the Derby, I finally figured it out. fly in & out, first flight that lands on Saturday morning in Louisville & last flight out that evening. That avoids hotels 80 miles away & three night minimum stays @ a Rapist rates.
If you want local Louisville trash experience, stop by the Quarter Pole bar near the track. The Derby is a great event, if you can afford,
