Just for fun - a friend at work told me she recently went to an astrologer's convention. They had a panel discussion on the election. The consensus is, after studying everyone's charts, Hillary will win the election, but will not get inaugurated. They couldn't agree on why - health, impeachment, etc. Consensus is Kaine is our next prez.

I'm now curious as to when he'll ship in this time, because one of the reasons they gave for firing Maria was Maria wanted to keep the horse in Ky and the owners wanted him at SA to prep for the Malibu and later races. He shipped in Dec 3rd last year.

I found an article on Blood Horse from last year which said Runhappy's 1st work at SA in preparation for the Malibu was Dec. 8th, a 6f work.

Did you see the BC Classic 2 years ago? I've seen many calls they made that were worse than that. One example - a Mullins horse coming down the stretch swung out and took 2 horses 3 paths sideways and went on and won. No DQ. I'm not kidding - I was there.

Can somebody bring these stewards out to SoCal and replace the ones that are there now?

I vaguely recall a horse named Sanhedrin. I think he finished 3rd in at least 1 of them.

Didn't it happen once that the stewards DQ'ed the wrong horse at Saratoga and they were exiled to Finger Lakes? Maybe 20 years or more ago.

I was at Hollypark once when Chris McCarron scratched a Whittingham horse during warmups out of a 4-horse graded stake. Charlie wasn't too happy about it. I believe next out the horse won another graded stake with a new rider.

Billy Patin was the jock who used an electrical device to win the Arkansas Derby once on a 30-1 horse named Valhol. Guess old habits are hard to break.

When I first started with TG back in the late 1980's, I believe it was $27

Reminds me of the computer inside guy behind the BC Pick-6 betting scandal (hooray for Volponi!). He also made good money by going into the system, retreiving and printing out uncashed tickets, and then cashing them.

I thought Affirmed finished 1st but lost on a DQ. Must have been a horse from way before my time, like Whirlaway or somebody from that era.

One of the best bumper stickers I've ever seen was from a redneck in Houston driving a pickup with a gun rack who had this one - "My kid beat up your honor student"

I tried playing the longshots underneath. Then the slowest horse in Triple Crown history comes in and beats me out of a super. Like the song title says - Oh Well.

And then add to the tragic list the Vegas race books that existed before casinos got involved -
Churchill Downs Race Book (where Paris is now)
one across the street from LV Hilton that sold TG for many tracks
a cigar shop near Churchill that sold sheets - Rags for sure, maybe TG too
I'm sure there's many others

I can't answer that question, but I can tell you that currently in early wagering he's 33-1. A lot of people here would love to get that on him.

I bought only the pick-4 races 8 thru 11 (Derby) and Jerry's Derby comments and analysis were included with the Derby sheets. Hope this helps

When I first started with TG in the late 80's, I asked this same question to Julian Weinberg, who was selling sheets and doing TG seminars in L.A. His response - not as good as you might think, and look what happened to her the first time she had to run.

Before yesterday he was being portrayed as a common man's hero. Now he's in the same class as Cliven Bundy.

I saw Commish as possibly this year's version of a big Belmont jump-up (Commendable, Da Tara, Birdstone, etc), strictly on breeding. I didn't think Tonalist had another move-up in him, especially after someone posted here that he was working in bar shoes.

Amen! I wish I had listened to you instead of Bruno who didn't like his works. But it doesn't matter, since I would've never played Tonalist.

I can understand him being upset after a loss, but it looked to me he lived up to the name of his stable. I wanted him to win, but maybe it's best he didn't.

FYI - they just showed on NBC that Chrome wore a nasal strip in his race at SA Nov 1 last year. He finished 6th and ran a TG 12.5 in that race. So his next race at Hol was NOT 1st time nasal strip.

Even worse, I've actually heard rumors that the American League is going to let teams use something called a "designated hitter" that won't even have to play defense. How does that grab you?
