I was there live for that, but like all Breeders Cups Events, long betting lines, long beer lines, long food lines. I took a calculated decision to get a hot dog that race, missed it & my friend says when I get back to our seats "Wow, what an incredible race!"
Missed it live & was on site. DAMN.

I saw "Charlie Hustle" selling MLB picks on an interview about two months ago. He is basically stating, Hell, No way are they going to vote me in, so time to cash out.

Unbridled Honor jumped over 11 points from his 2 year old top to his last race. That is why the difference between the two. Jerry covers that in the Derby seminars yearly, that is too much.

YEP, Governor Edgar was an great supporter, Quinn not so much. Gov. Edgar would attend & hand out the Arlington Million trophy.
But Dick Duchossois certainly knew what they were doing selling out to Churchill, was a business decision, IMO.
Sad, but not surprising here. Currently zoned Agricultural, like most tracks. Its like holding valuable land for a drive-in movie theater, you all

Never been to Balmoral harness racing. closed, but was converted to a horse show-jumping venue, is on the market with an asking price of $4 million.
As of now, there are three horse racetracks in Illinois: Arlington Park, Hawthorne Race Course and Fairmount Park.

I'm local & AP has been dropping for years. I've attended about 20 Arlington Millions over the years & last year was a pathetic lack of attendance. Didn't even seem like a big stakes day at all. Not like the old days. Was a bit sad.
I love the facility, but I only go two days a year. Million Preview day & Million day.
My understanding why AP/CDI didn'

Pope of Greenwich Village, as Classic.
Loved the line by Paulie, "Just look @ the junk he's up against", as he slaps the racing program.

Travasco,
I also was on Donna Veloce; liked her 2 YO base #s, looked very hidden, won with ease last out but only 5. Then picking between DV & Oaks winner Shedaresthedevil, I went to the Sire breeding #s as the tie breaker. That is my achilles heal & actually seems to beat me often. Seems I lean too much on that sire breading #s. Am I really off base looking @ those?
Should have

Post positions get a bit too much discussion here @ KY Derby time. Yes, Way out bad, way in bad, but most all OK. It really depends on the horse.
I recall watching people circling the GYM parking lot searching for the closest spot so their walk to the door is shortest, before running on the tread mill for 30 minutes. Really?
Might as well, start watching data on pre-race warm ups & c

Well, seems the 2020 Belmont Stakes will "smash" Secretariats stakes record time for the race. Who would have ever thought that was possible? Do they still use asterisk anymore on stats or records?

You learn something new every day. Never heard that angle before & been handicapping for 35 years. Thanks for sharing, as all makes sense, I sure would also run my butt off, if someone cut off my balls if I didn't run well the race before!!

Am I nuts here or is Mathcapper going to chime in here.
If the chances are 0.20 % then THAT probability remains constant NO matter how many horses (volume) . Probability does not change based on volume, BUT incident count can change, not incident RATE.
For example, flip a coin 1,000 times & it is still 50% probability of Heads.
200 Horses @ 0.20% probability is 0.40 horse incide

I just saw the Arlington Million Day race card, the under-card is the worst I've ever seen! For Illinois biggest day @ the racetrack; or any Big Race day @ any track for that matter. Five of the first Six races are MSW. Embarrassing for the industry, IMO.

The reasoning is they skip down to other "listed" colts, as they won't book Field/Field exacta wagers. Had the same question a few years ago. as I tried to place Field/Field exacta wager, it won't take. They keep going down the finish list until they find a Listed colt.

I've been scouting sites for a new Bull Fighting Arena, as certainly an uncaptured sports niche market & I'm sure will be welcomed with open arms in ANY City USA. I don't see ANY restrictions on any municipalities City written Zoning Ordinances regarding this sport, so should be a slam dunk.

No mention of Silver Dust @ all in ROTW. Not long ago, I forgot whom was entered in a race, made ZERO sense & wrong surface, ended up walking away with a victory. Anyone recall who? Seems almost the same here.

Winx ? - 5 years ago
So, why don't these super horses like Winx ever show up to Breeders Cup?
Same comment for Black Caviar when running. Always seemed odd to me.
Don't recall if Galileo ever shipped across the pond either.
Thoughts? Just curious.

Got to be one of two reasons about a 14 horse field.
a) CD can't load more than 14 colts to run 1 1/4 miles @ CD unless its the first Saturday in May?
OR
b) The Pari-Mutuel machines only have 12 runners on the push buttons. (The good old days)
Only two reasons I can imagine. HAR HAR
