How do they race today???
Strong winds, several inches of rain.
Mandatory pick 6 payout.
No turf races, track was sealed last night--should be like asphalt.
Hate to buy sheets and handicap if the card gets cancelled--anyone have any insight?
On an unrelated note, how do we take Baffert's current funk? He's winning about 5 from about 40 entries. I remember a few years a

Believe me, I'm no Gulfstream aficionado, but I was reading a workout report and they said this about Accelerate on an off track;
"Best we have ever seen from this one. Appeared to relish the sealed surface as
the BC champ was off the charts. Totally lit-up in the flesh and coat. Watch out
if he gets this kind of track on race day."
So there you go. Make of this what you w

As far as good #'s, pretty much any jockey on planet earth, or other planets for that matter, will have good #'s if riding for Baffert.
I'm more interested in the question as to why Smith (seems anyway) not to be the main go to guy anymore. The wedding isn't definitive proof for me as Jill B and Smith are friends, too.
What I mean by his horses don't get tired is t

Did they have some kind of falling out? Been noticing Smith not riding for Baffert much? I thought Smith might be retiring but he's saying 5 more years!
Talamo and Van Dyke have been riding a lot for Baffert with the result being a few odds-on runners finishing so far back the Hubble telescope can't find them. I can't imagine Talamo keeping that assignment much longer; he sometime

a good test of the theory will be to see how he does in january, february and march at gulfstream, esp. with maidens--he used to be money with a first time starter there, but saratoga dispelled that. gulfstream winter has always been one of his strongest meets. i don't think i'd be burying him just yet though there is no question brown has moved ahead of everyone, save baffert. scary to

That's a tough race. I guess you're hoping Rice can get T back to his 2017 form.
I'm not too sure about the am line favorite for Pletcher--seems slowish. I might look for a longer priced closer since there is a ton of speed, maybe 4, 6, 8. Seems like a tough card, Good luck.

In case you all didn't hear, Stevens is done. He had some serious medical issues that could have left him paralyzed. He'll probably get some kind of TV gig. I wish him well. He tried to fight father time a bit longer than he should have but he gets to walk away which is always a bonus in that game.

Looks like Baffert is giving Talamo a big role here on more than a few horses. Is that an indication that Smith might be winding down or just an up and coming rider Baffert is going to use or something temporary or provisional? Good for Talamo. Always thought he was talented and smart, just terribly inconsistent and streaky. He seems to have matured though. Baffert never ceases to amaze me with t

It's only life-changing if you're smart and do the right thing afterwards, and you have to take the emotions out of it. The highs and lows can be brutal. I wish I could teach my young self what I've learned the hard way over the past 40 years.

Could someone make it their mission to take the words "life-changing score" out of the racing vernacular, especially on the part of the TVG talking heads and in-house analysts? As someone, who in a long and sordid career of gambling, has made a few such scores, I can say with certainty that unless you take the proceeds, buy a share or two of Berkshire Hathaway stock and a long vacation

They provide fractions for some, I emphasise, some of the races. Like all UK racing, it's a crapshoot what information you get. Maybe a replay, maybe not. Maybe fractions, maybe not.
I wouldn't put too much stock in time though. There are so many wild fluctuations between courses and conditions over there, they're not comparable, but it helps a little for sure.

I'm more than half way through, but there isn't much depth regarding the discussion on PEDs. I just learned more about Justify's greatness, which we all pretty much knew already.

If you saw both sheets, on Ragozin he had zero shot; on t-graphs he looked a bit better. But how do you predict that kind of suicide pace? Men.'s race is kind of crazy unless you think O'Brien really feels they're sharpening him up for the BC classic. By doing what they did he had zZERO chance to win that race. He ran incredibly well to still be fighting at the end. Maybe if you t

He seems to fit here at a price (8-1 am line). Gotta beat Pletcher and Brown though. I figure if he can run well at Fairgrounds, he probably handles off turf. Any thoughts? He seems fast enough???
