Re: Nasal strip on per Alan Sherman - 10 years ago
Good. Hopefully not as an exemption but as a rule change.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Nasal Strips - 10 years ago
Are front bandages a performance enhancer? How about blinkers, tongue ties, shadow rolls and toe grabs? I think you're putting nasal strips in the wrong category.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: TG figs today - 10 years ago
Knock on Utley, from my perspective, was the spacing of the 2 efforts leading up to this race. I didn't think he'd run his A race.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: $3 to place - 10 years ago
Well they'd be a lot easier before the tote board lights up if they showed the pool totals like they used to.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Chrome Can - 10 years ago
Don't know what a jock change would do. SI made a run at the winner and hung. He reminds me of Verrazano.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Chrome Can - 10 years ago
That's where he should have been spotted. 3 week turn around not ideal.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: A Rod - 10 years ago
Bad racing luck. He never really had a chance to get out early. Chose to save ground and find a seam late. If not for Ring Weekend, it might have worked. Just tough luck. Hard to knock a rider with his resume.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: $3 to place - 10 years ago
I think his point was $3 to place was a remarkable payoff on a 1/2 shot. That said, if you'd told me that before the race, I still wouldn't have played it.by jerry - Ask the Experts

Well then Castellano has the same problem as the horse because he slammed on the breaks too.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: He could've run around again - 10 years ago
Finished as strongly as he started. Never seen a horse finish this race with so much energy. Good luck to all challengers.by jerry - Ask the Experts

Any chance you guys could air this dispute privately? It's of no use to me.by jerry - Ask the Experts

Right. Black Eyed Susan Day will be a complete wash out. Hopeful rain ending early Friday night and Saturday breezes keep some of those races on the turf.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: The right general approach - 10 years ago
Wind derby day was WSW at 10 mph with 25 mph gusts and max gust of 31 mph. The stretch run would have been straight into the wind. Would it be telling to much to reveal what the wind speed was during the stretch run? Seems like a 31 mph gust would slow things down a bit.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Great job TG! - 10 years ago
The fact that he properly analyzed that CC was no faster than others does not diminish how good the analysis was. Huh?by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Great job TG! - 10 years ago
Congrats on the 9x 5 of 6. Just out if curiosity, who were the 9 that you used? I ask only because I got beat leaving Danza out of my tri box and I wondered if you used him. I went back through the archives and drew the same conclusion you did about TP horses bouncing off tops or even pair ups. Especially after last years Gemologist and El Padrino melt downs. Whatever happened to those two horsesby jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Great job TG! - 10 years ago
This is boring to me and I'm sure everyone else so let's drop it. Anyone who bought the analysis can draw their own conclusions. As far as TGJB goes, I buy his data, rely on his opinions, especially in big races, and I've learned not to stray from his analysis because I've been burned too many times when I have. His analysis is the best I know of. Good call on Commanding Curveby jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Great job TG! - 10 years ago
OK. I'll just lift some of his opinions straight from the analysis. They speak for themselves. "The top group contains the four horses we really like. Samraat, General A Rod and Vicar’s In Trouble"... "Commanding Curve is very live at an enormous price" "The second strongest group is comprised of four horses. California Chrome has solid figures so we have to puby jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Great job TG! - 10 years ago
Commanding Curve was the only valuable insight in the analysis and I do appreciate that insight. It was the only ticket I cashed on the race. California Chrome was a do-not-use at a short price. Danza and Wicked Strong were horses they did not like and didn't plan to use. So unless they had a big place bet on the 17, I don't see the big score.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Great job TG! - 10 years ago
I don't know who you are or if you're being facetious, but I'm pretty sure they're not. Not because of the derby anyhow.by jerry - Ask the Experts

Medal Count's sheet reminds me a lot of Charismatic's. Ran a big new top a couple of weeks before the derby and paired it.by jerry - Ask the Experts

Mike Welsh in his clockers report from yesterday or the day before hinted that the rail might be a little deeper.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Stuck in the middle with you... - 10 years ago
True. I regret making the comment. The irony is I don't even think the derby actually confirms anything because of all of the troubled trips in the race. I find the Preakness to be a truer indicator of who is the better 3 year old.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Stuck in the middle with you... - 10 years ago
Don't understand the reason for all the debate. If you think you have a better methodology, shut up and bet it and if you're right, take the spoils. What else do you want...praise?by jerry - Ask the Experts
