Petruchio and Lincoln Hawk. Both with explosive patterns. Both at 20-1 ML.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Del Mar late money - 3 years ago
It’s obscene. Win odds cut in half AFTER the gates open. Double prices in the first leg chopped in half. Is anyone else suspicious? If not, what is the explanation?by jerry - Ask the Experts

Hopefully NYRA is interviewing candidates for his spot. He might be a perfectly nice guy but race calling is not his calling.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Race 7 Del Mar - 3 years ago
I can safely say in my 40 odd years of wagering I’ve never lost a bet that way. I’m relieved to know that no one was hurt.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Race 7 Del Mar - 3 years ago
Race chart has 7 DNFs. I reckon that was their reason. Wonder if that rule applies to hurdles?by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Race 7 Del Mar - 3 years ago
I was with you there too. I’d still like an explanation.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Race 7 Del Mar - 3 years ago
Three horses went down and they voided the race. This is their reason. CHRB RULE 1544 (B) CALLING IFF RACE The stewards may declare a race no contest if mechanical failure or interference during the running of the race affects the majority of the horses in such race. My question is it was a 12 horse race. Three went down. How does that constitute a majority?!by jerry - Ask the Experts

I know relatively little about the man but I know more now. Thank you. He just might be a legitimately keen horseman. Hats off to him if he is.by jerry - Ask the Experts

How good is this guy? Anybody have a clue what to do with his entries?by jerry - Ask the Experts
Late Money - 3 years ago
Yes, the late money in the pools is making this meet a little laughable. Even the 35-1 bomb Spectatorless in the 7th today got hit hard in the doubles. Looked like a happy ending for his backers until he bolted through the rail deep stretch.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Saratoga Lodging - 3 years ago
Was once my home. 7th btw 1st and 2nd. The 70’s were a fun time there. Too much fun.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Saratoga Lodging - 3 years ago
Thanks to all for your thoughtful replies. Haven’t been up to the spa in 20+ years. Loved it there. Always stayed at the Adelphi. So sad to see that place deconsecrated. Worse than the McSorley’s dusting a few years back. I still might stay there anyway if I can find a room. Best of luck to all.by jerry - Ask the Experts

On to manana. Are you going to be on the turf there tomorrow (today)?by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: ROTW??? - 3 years ago
I read it but thanks and I cashed the race better than if MG had won. I still think MG got a bad trip so his defeat is questionable. The rail path was a detriment.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: ROTW??? - 3 years ago
Bad trip for Mystic Guide. The rail was not the place to be today and getting pinned in tight by Moretti on the far turn did him no favors.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: WaPo on Justify/Baffert (and previously unseen CHRB/CA AG documents) - 3 years ago
I doubt Scopolamine moved Justify up by very much if any. It’s already been reclassified downward. In this case I don’t think Arthur’s decision was unjustified.by jerry - Ask the Experts

ROTW - 3 years ago
Nice to see a return to the ROTW. It’s what sold me in this product many $$$ ago. That said, have you ever considered featuring a race of a lower profile that offers potentially more value? High priced optional allowance turf claimers with big fields around two turns have always been my favorite. Lots of class and trip angles to make them interesting. Maybe even a spread in the weights!by jerry - Ask the Experts
