But will something good be good enough? His pattern isn’t enticing and there are many others that have run at least as fast.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Saratoga Springs article - 3 years ago
You don’t have to go too far back to remember the original Adelphi Hotel, place of my wedding before it’s demolition (the hotel that is) and it’s rowdy neighbor the Rip Van Dam, Mrs. London’s for brunch, and my fave bar and sometimes dance club, the Golden Grill. It was a pretty cool town in August before homogenization.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Purity of numbers - 3 years ago
Not suggesting anything of the sort. Just asking if bettors on this board regard PRX and DEL figs with skepticism or just flat out disregard them completely.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Purity of numbers - 3 years ago
Two questions here. One, I often regard with some skepticism figures from DEL and PRX. Any others agree or disagree? Two, likewise I hold the same regard for off turf slop figures. Don’t know why but they often seem to be aberrant. My prejudice is that the crown is often the better part of the track albeit the wider trip too. Not sure if 3w on a sloppy surface really is a disadvantage.by jerry - Ask the Experts

Really curious about your take on the inside of the turf course.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: What A Day - 3 years ago
Not sure what was going on with the turf course on Friday but in the BYE BYE MELVIN race I used the 1,2 and 3 horses who were supposed to be the early speed and they just got laid over by the middle of the field in the first quarter mile. In a big field I’ll take ground loss into the first turn over ground saved. The crush is brutal.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: What A Day - 3 years ago
I made out ok mostly due to Motions horse in the third race on Friday and a fat finger on the all button in the triples. It’s the best I can do on these BC days when a shotgun works better than a rifle. Shoot for third or better in the tris with liberal use of the all button. That said, I couldn’t have missed Order of Australia’s race anymore than I did. He was the only horse I threw ouby jerry - Ask the Experts
Saratoga Field Sizes - 4 years ago
Not much to nibble on here. 6 to 8 horse fields max with little value. I suppose it’s Covid related but NYRA’s handle can’t be too good.by jerry - Ask the Experts

Midstretch the rider of the tiring 5 passes his whip to the rider of the rallying 6. Hard to believe it’s allowed but no inquiry and quickly posted official.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Mo Forza - 4 years ago
His prior race was just about as fast as any of these had ever run and the scratch of the Baffert horse one out from him allowed him an easier lead. The post position and pace scenario were all in his favor. Not a big surprise that he was favored or that he won.by jerry - Ask the Experts

Anyone else puzzled by Jose’s weird ride on CRACK SHOT today? Granted the horse stumbled coming out but the full nelson from then on just doesn’t look like a winning ride.by jerry - Ask the Experts

Re: Macagone R4 Saratoga - 5 years ago
You won’t like the price. And Concrete Rose is no lock off of her 2pt. regression, short spacing and facing unknown quantities in first time Lasix Euros. You won’t like her price either. NYRA certainly didn’t. No show wagering even before the 6 scratched.by jerry - Ask the Experts
Re: Dead rail at the spa today - 5 years ago
Not arguing whether or not he would have won. Just wondering why the jockey kept him so far off the rail. The only reason I can surmise is the better part of the track was out around the 3 path. Wondering if that had anything to do with Mitole’s race in the Vanderbilt a couple of races earlier.by jerry - Ask the Experts
