I'm no vet, so I'll ask you guys:
We all are aware of Upstart running a fever over the weekend. Would a trainer be inclined to use antibiotics on a horse that runs a fever or do you just let it runs it course?
And if Violette did use antibiotics on Upstart, is this a concern for horseplayers even though the Derby is 3 weeks out?

If I had to draw an analogy from the Wood, I think the easiest comparison would be to relate Frosted to Wicked Strong. Both had their issues in Florida, while showing great promise prior to that. Wicked Strong's Wood figure was strong and I have a feeling that Frosted's will be similar.

I'm kinda surprised there hasn't been any banter on the weekend yet, so maybe we can get some discussion started here:
I don't know anything about fig-making, but I'm going to assume Dortmund gets somewhere around a -1 for his effort in the Santa Anita Derby (based on the Beyer). If that is the case, his new top wasn't too big of a move, so a pair up or a new top proba

If I recall correctly from Derby seminars past, a horse with 5 weeks or more rest has a better chance of running a new top in the Derby than horses with 4 weeks or less. If Firing Line did indeed run a 1.5 or better (no ground loss), then you could make a case that this guy can make a jump to a 0 or better in the Derby.
However, that Line of David-Hold for Gold cross doesn't lend much c

Let's just forget the Derby for a second. Mr Covello, if you can get this horse to win a couple more graded stakes, or another Grade 1, you will own one of the top stallion PROSPECTS on the racetrack.
That female family is a masterpiece. Tracing back to Courtly Dee, who produced Arkansas Derby winning filly Althea, and also Aquilegia, Amizette and Twining.
The 3rd dam Aishah won the

Is it true that the NHC has designated an Australian track as one of the mandatory races to bet during the championship?
This is akin to playing a World Series game in Japan. I think its hard enough to master speed figures, pedigrees, trainer/jock combos in this country alone, much less another country that races when I'm in bed.

10 to 15 minutes usually. 4 to 6 months on the Kentucky Derby and still fail to cash a ticket.

I was watching a DRF Clocker Report that Mike Welsch provides daily and he mentioned that Sweet Reason was wearing a protective cup over one of her eyes. I was not aware of any injury she may have sustained. If this is the case, my next question would be "has she taken antibiotics?"
Can anybody shed light on this?

Can't fault you there. This race reminds me a bit of the 1999 Classic, where notable horses like Lemon Drop Kid, Behrens, River Keen did not fire leaving Cat Thief, Budroyale and others to slug it out for top honors.
All 3 of your mentions have run fast enough to factor in the race.

I downloaded the Cup sheets last Wednesday night and am currently waiting impatiently for Mr. Brown's informative seminar. Prior to that, though, I've formed some pre-draw thoughts:
Classic
Count me as one that was surprised at Shared Belief's last fig. With the outrageous ground loss and interference run by Vic Espinoza, I was guessing a monster fig was coming. I was very wro
