National Turf's Workout Report's website crashed within days of Thorograph's crash. Coincidence?
I believe it is up again.

Goog luck with this decision. It can be a lot of fun and of course frustrating at times. A few suggestions --
1) Get a good trainer and one that you can trust (not impossible). This is by far your most important decision.
2) The trainer sh

Easy to say this now. If she passed on the Haskell she would have been 6 for 6 (4 Grade 1 wins) this year with $3 million in earnings. Her sole blemish was the 5th in the Haskell and that really hurt when considering her for HOY. I believe the award has become a popularity contest and if true -- CC should win hands down.

I have attached a link to the major San Diego newspaper regarding a review of the first 3 days of the new Del Mar Fall meet. I attended all 3 days and I am impressed. Racing was good (even though on Saturday no horses could close) and the turf course appeared to be much safer than during the summer meet. 8+ horse average per race -- not bad. Lines were shorter and traffic was lighter. A good

I don't know you and therefore don't know if your comment is tongue in cheek but those who for some reason agree with the stewards or the Baffert camp -- you are in the minority opinion. The ESPN link sums up my feelings.

I had the trifecta and was disgusted cashing it. I have owned hundreds of horses and I am so sad that our sport is now relegated in stature to boxing and gymnastics and synchronized swimming.
I suspect Baffert did this on purpose. I felt bad for Garcia when he was interviewed because he didn't know what to say. Acted like he was being deposed -- and was guilty. Poor guy. Typical Baffert.

I agree. I have never understood the under the rails shot that the French are very fond of. I guess they do it because the camera is close to the horses but it is only artsy and not informative at all.

Game went the way the season went. Powerful and fast start out of the gate -- hung at the wire.

Be honest...
Good luck, Jim (with JB's handicapping conclusion, ability to watch race, and of course the race result). You will burn up a lot of your pile of luck if you get all 3!

I enjoyed watching him race in many local Grade 1 races. He was a very unusual runner -- he made $6.5 million and really could not pass another horse. That is essentially why he was retired according to Baffert. Hard to say he was common (he obviously wasn't).

Without trying to be snide and with no attempt to appropriately quote a long deceased famous person -- I will not be reading any "Ollie" posts until they creep into the positive realm. I enjoy the sport for what it is "warts and all" (sorry Oliver Cromwell), I couldn't help myself.
I have experienced outrageous joy in this sport and also some disappointment caused by
