I wanted to take advantage of the 5% rebates this week so I tried to try it. Shame on NYRA Bets for their system troubles.

First 2 yr. old by RUNHAPPY runs Thursday at Churchill. I'm hoping this is the beginning of the end of the sire's incessant promotion.

Three years ago today (my Facebook page reminds me), CLOUD COMPUTING won the Preakness at 14-1 in a most memorable score. I remember studying the race for an hour and shaking my head at the complete clarity of what was going to happen. Yet in the face of all this, racing experts overlooked him (certainly on the win end) by touting the favorites from Pletcher and Casse. You question yourself: &quo

With regards to the Churchill meet that starts tomorrow, realize that many of these runners were primed to come off the layoff… not now, but 4-6 weeks ago at Keeneland! Trainers have had to pump the brakes on hammering down too much. Then rev up. A champion returns tomorrow off a 500+ day layoff and she’ll be 3-5. Your move.

Three months ago, I commented here about trainer Robertino Diodoro's horses exploding at Oaklawn in preposterous ways. Eyepoppers, time after time after time. We all can bet Diodoro and profit. But past a certain point, it's really not funny. It's stuff for the FBI.
I suggest anyone interested should download Jerry's Oaklawn May 2 finals and take a look at the winner of OP&

Kelsi Harr? My Oaklawn trainer wanted to use her but I said no. I liked the idea to take weight, but she’s better with lone lead types (like those from Larry Jones) than closers where she’ll necessarily have to go 5- wide. Experience will help. And I like her accent.

Old PP's? For a real hoot how 'bout looking at some old ThoroGraph sheets! NOT the beautiful computer printed .pdf files of today. But the "rough and hand-marked by Jerry Brown" versions of yesteryear. For sentimental reasons, I've kept a few. For example:
I have an A.P INDY sheet going into the 1992 Kentucky Derby indicating he won the 1992 Santa Anita Derby with a 7.

T-Generates? I like that word. I am one. But don't tell anybody.
Also, after NADAL works that 55.2... he'll certainly draw the 1 post for the Oaklawn Derby and Baffert will complain: "I'd rather draw the 12 post and be 4-wide all like IMPROBABLE and GAME WINNER last year."

Private vet injections are the problem here! There should be NO private vet injections! All thoroughbred racehorse injections should be supervised and executed by a system of track, state and federal teams working together. Perhaps at an “Injection Barn†Everything entered into the blockchain with complete transparency to the public. Private vets may still diagnose and advise all they want. B

Q: “Mr. Rhein, can we see the vet bills for the horses you treated such as MUCHO MACHO MAN (who won the 2017 BC Classic) and MIND YOUR BISCUITS?

Just getting started, indeed. Over the next 8-12 months, racing undoubtedly will mimic the downturn in the world economy due to the current health crisis.
Beware near term, as it relates to players using this site, I suspect vets now will pull back to less aggressive modus operandis. And as a consequence, we’ll see some odd and head-scratching results ahead. Some horses may not run as well a

In the past few days, good guys Gary Contessa and Kiaran McLaughlin expressed plans to leave long-standing careers training horses. Unsaid reason can be deciphered with one look at the sheet of Linda Rice's 16k claim WICKED TRICK in the Stymie today. The last ThoroGraph. Sigh. Linda used to train for me.

As an old-timer on this board, I know that many new threads here really are continuations of very old threads. For example, over two decades have passed since Andy Beyer wrote his article "CLENBUTEROL BEATS THE ODDS" in the Washington Post. It was (gulp) January 29, 1997! You can google it if you want.
My favorite line: "With it," a veterinarian said, "YOU CAN MAKE PIG

My friend Tom used to always say about horses he thought couldn’t lose: “If he doesn’t win, there ought to be an investigation.†Well, after STREET TO INDY improbably won Oaklawn’s 7th today at 27-1 for white-hot trainer Robertino Diodoro, there should be another kind of investigation.
Diodoro is absolutely killing it at Oaklawn so far this season. I don’t think in all my years Iâ

A bit surprised CODE OF HONOR went backwards in his smashing Travers win last out. Thought he’d have paired up. His slight move backwards here is the figure makers art. DRF’s Beyer figs say he went from a 97 to a 105, and that doesn’t consider his 8 wide far turn. The BRIS figs say he went from a 97 to a 105. But I’m not complaining.
It says that there were a lot of Travers runners (li

"Dr. Rick Sams, who ran the drug lab for the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission from 2011 to 2018, said scopolamine can act as a bronchodilator to clear a horse’s airway and optimize a horse’s heart rate, making the horse more efficient. He said the amount of scopolamine found in Justify — 300 nanograms per milliliter — was excessive, and suggested the drug was intended to enhance perf

I hit Monday’s Pick-6 at Saratoga for 24k - playing the wager only because of the mandatory payout scenario. But then I looked at the winning 50 Pick-5 - my usual play, but not here - and saw a whopping 66k payout, a stunning amount I think. Seems about 200 tickets hit the Pick 6. And maybe 7 tickets won the Pick 5.

Personally, I’m not a fan of Jay Hovdey. Reminiscing about Charlie Whittingham 20 times a month is OK. But his take a few years ago on the Steve Asmussen vs. PETA complaint/video - hey, it’s no big deal; ha ha and racin
