Mall,
Congrats on the fine showing... And I bet the Samyn horse myself as well, and it may very well have been the worst ride in history.

Our boy Randall Immett, a Spillane disciple, text messaged me last night.. He finished 49th of the 226.. Strong Saturday, but too tough to recover from the one win/three 2nd's on Friday..
Congrats to Rand on his first appearance.. He'll be back..

You want a tale of woe? I left Lava Man off my "5" ticket...
Singled Promenade, Moscow and Fortune... used Miesque, Silver and Sand in the Turf and then Crying, Supervisor and Boom in the Classic...
I want to kill myself... Paid $13,600+...
How do you get a $100 horse and then not have Lava Man on the duchat?

What I'd like to know is when will CDI begin applying 'at the moment' lock in odds to the Future Bet.. The technology is available in Australia and I believe I read that someone in the US has a working model as well that they are pitching the tracks. I hate getting excited about a horse in these pools only to see him run well over the weekend and have his odds dive. Cause to Believ

Recall that last year's edition of this event produced 70-1 winner Musique Toujours.. Much like NY's state-bred all-stakes card, this set of races has a tendency to produce some wacky outcomes.

You can your 30-1 on Superfly this minute at Bally's.. He's 20-1 at Wynn.
Today and tomorrow are days to get some Vegas Future Bets in as there are a host of Derby Trailers making starts in ALWs, the El Camino and Pasco this weekend: Music School (50-1), Wanna Runner (150-1!), R Loyal Man (60-1), etc..

For starters, you're jumping to a conclusion that is highly unlikely to happen involving MEC and NY. Second, SRC is on the Historic Register and little can be done to alter the basic physical plant. That said, the departure of George Hathaway will be a blow to those that prefer to keep things totally as they are at Toga. For years, George prevented many odious overtures for change from movin

JB, Alan, & Co.,
Have a minute to report in from The Orleans and thank TG, and especially Bill Spillane, for the help and generosity during the HWS here. While I'd be surprised if many of 'our' tribe did super well due to the unending parade of chalk TH-FR-SAT, it certainly wasn't for lack of support on your end. Bill was tireless in his efforts, and I hope he gets some

And he wasn't too impressive winning the Gr. I HOL Futurity either... (when he lowered his top to 1.25..)
Before that he was a really unimpressive 4th in the BC Juvy at 57-1... (with a new top of 4..)
And earlier he was totally unimpressive wiring the Gr. II Norfolk... (on a regression to 10.25..)
That's a very deceptive 6/4-0-1 ($600,000) record he's toting around...

Tread lightly on Wazoo... He was also in my early mix till a friend mentioned that there might be a very good reason that Breen is 1 for 21 in New York since crossing over from Jersey.

In that CRC 12th, the Betty, #3 SPECIAL REPORT looks to have an explosive line to me.. 6-1.
AQU 9th: #11 Little Red Rocket (5-1) and #6 Prince Benjamin (12-1) end our P6 play... Much to recommend both...
Everyone enjoy...
Happy Healthy New Year to all...

SoCal,
Can't address the larger issue at hand, but one reason to embrace "264" and his figs Wednesday was the success of Banjo Picker 11 days earlier at AQI. Banjo brought a similarly attractive pattern from the 'Mid-Atlantic' to Ozone Park for that race, and was the first thing I thought of when looking at Two Sixty Four's page.
Naughty New Yorker ruined my tr

Surprised there hasn't been more fallout here from the ridiculous outcome of the Malibu and the embarassing condition of Monday's SA strip. What was the point of even letting any off the pace runner into the gate at Santa Anita Monday? In ANY of the dirt races??

You're right, and I absolutely included the 4! Boxed the winner with Acclimate (4), Saay Mi Name (5) and Presidentialaffair (7), and played Banjo straight as the price soared...
Didn't write about it last night as I was still stunned, but it was quite a day as I went 5/6 in the "6". Man of Danger beat me in the 8th as I tanked with Kohut and Runningforpresident..

Thx to TG for 47-1 Banjo Picker today in the Gravesend. The shipper with oddball connections totally figured in the mix today off his series of consistent efforts and wouldn't have been obvious, to me, otherwise...
Missed the boffo exotics, but the Banjo pickin' left me grinnin' when the PA-bred gutted out the win..

Her pedigree is heavily skewed to speed.. Not only is she bred on top for sprinting, but she also has a Raise A Native line damsire who was a good sprinter and a female family that lacks any definition to provide for stamina.
That said, you won't know until she tries...

Hey putz.. NYRA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RUNNING OF THE BREEDERS' CUP.. NOTHING. It's the BC/NTRA's show 100%.
You have a complaint with the lack of announcement before Saturday of Leroi in alum. pads, blame someone responsible.. not NYRA.

This weekend's work by Sam was with Lasix. He reacted really well to it and JB said he was as aggressive as can be.

Tony,
You have to pick up assignments through all the articles, releases, etc.. I've got a pretty good number of them so far, but they'll be some movement before entries Wed.
Anxious to hear your thoughts. I'm feeling good about the DIS, FMT, Juvys (somewhat). CLS & Turf are a quandry.. Mile & SPR are problematic given the Leroi/Fog scenarios.

Tony,
Re: Happy Ticket, carefully watch that Beldame. I loved her in that spot. If this was a two turn 9f, I'd agree that the distance would be an issue. But in that first try at the trip, once she realized that she was being asked to go an extra 110 yards than she ever had before, and once Espo stopped using the left hand, she dug back in and fought to the wire AND BEYOND IT..
