Breeders Cup Post Mortem - 3 years ago
This Breeders Cup weekend destroyed my bankroll and I’m ready to take another break, perhaps a permanent one is in order. I haven’t done well wagering on major races for quite some time. Sure, I’ve hit occasionally but I’m getting destroyed over the long haul. You know why? I can’t beat Chad, or Bob, or Michael, or Robertino and I’m too stubborn to pass. I know there are many others out therby billk5300s - Ask the Experts

Farewell Arlington Park - 3 years ago
This upcoming Saturday will most likely be the last time there is horse racing at Arlington Park. They did not apply for 2022 dates. The property will be sold and CDI doesn’t want competition with their interest in Rivers Casino which is only about 10 miles away. Arlington has been dead for a long time. The State of Illinois struck the first blow during the Quinn era when they wouldn’by billk5300s - Ask the Experts
Re: TGPS EXTRA Weekly Seminar-- sending to all TGPS EXTRA members - 3 years ago
Kudos to Vic for a nice winner/exacta/tri at KD. Win or lose I really find your insight very interesting. I can honestly say that the seminars have opened my eyes to some angles that I haven’t considered and have helped my handicapping. Thanks Jeff and Vic!!!by billk5300s - Ask the Experts
GG Race2 DQ - 3 years ago
Yesterday I took a shot to beat Jonathon Wong’s “Fascinate†with “Saint I’veâ€. Horse was 7-1 and the trainer had nice numbers 1st out. In the stretch Fascinate had a short lead while running wide. Saint Ives started drifting out and made what I Thought was a minor bump which did not hinder the momentum of Fascinate. The two horses battled down the stretch and St Ives won by a headby billk5300s - Ask the Experts
Re: (Chi): All the way from China? - 3 years ago
Last year I posted a comment about Gabby singling a 15-1 at GP on this board. She had information from her connections on the horse. This happens regularly, I get it, but how would you feel if you got beat because you didn’t have information? This has always been a problem with the sport. You bet back a horse because they had a bad trip or they have a great pattern and a horse that looks liby billk5300s - Ask the Experts
Re: Baffert Wins Again - 3 years ago
Simple solution. Boycott the Baffert races. As a side note there are other chemists out there that are just as bad and I am finding it difficult to navigate the card for races where they don’t have entries.by billk5300s - Ask the Experts

Re: Druckenmiller: Make high conviction plays... - 3 years ago
We’ve all been there. Find a solid angle on a race. Load up and they get beat. Then 3 races later and your bankroll is in shreds, you take a stab and hit a $30 winner with a nice exacta. Honestly, I’ve been dong this for 40 years and my win% isn’t what it should be on locks. Anyone else feel that way?by billk5300s - Ask the Experts

How dare they deny me of my mcl6300 races! But seriously, that would be a perfect location for a domed stadium where they could host bowl games and concerts in addition to Da Bears! lookout PID, LR is on his way with horses that leave sonic booms!by billk5300s - Ask the Experts

Just Another Day at Churchill - 3 years ago
Watching and playing Churchill the past few days, the muddy track excluded, it seemed to have a bias towards speed. You had to be close to win. I had a couple of tough beats, the worst of which was the 4th when Snow House stayed in front while my picks ran 2-3-4. Keeping the bias I observed in mind I made a big play on Hellium in the 9th with an exacta with Obesos, only to have a heavily backeby billk5300s - Ask the Experts
Re: Just a Few Saratoga Summers Ago - 3 years ago
I started with the trotters as well. I remember of friend of mine saying that they wouldn’t be around much longer when the first casino in Illinois opened. He added that they’re not the only game in town. Now there are casinos and on line sports wagering. It’s as if history is repeating itself.by billk5300s - Ask the Experts
Friday Belmont 2 No DQ - 3 years ago
How do they not DQ Smooth Pebble in Race 2 on Friday? Came in an entire path and cut off #6 She do Naughty. Yes I did have an interest so would love an objective opinion. TiAby billk5300s - Ask the Experts
Re: Just a Few Saratoga Summers Ago - 3 years ago
You know Fairmount, I was thinking the same thing but wondered if it had to do with racing in our beloved home state. The short fields out west are very concerning as well. I was in Vegas and even the sports books aren’t crowded and that was on a Saturday. More folks were on the other side betting baseball and watching the games than were betting and watching the races. Re: How to Bet - 3 years ago
The analysis is a great tool to double check if you missed something. My personal perception is they seem to be outstanding on turf races and very good on dirt. My only gripe with the analysis is that they should rename their best bet pick to best value pick. To me a best bet is a most likely winner but that’s just me. I’ve been a TG customer for over 25 years and wouldn’t bet on a raceby billk5300s - Ask the Experts

Re: Here we go. - 3 years ago
These trainers are all magicians. There’s one or two at every track. That horse sprinted 9 furlongs. I doubt that was coincidence. With BB there are a lot of coincidences. How many times are his horses a point or 2 slower on the graph, get bet to 2/5 and destroy a field? TGJB commented that he’s not stupid, but he is smug and arrogant. I’m sure they won’t question ME runs through hby billk5300s - Ask the Experts
Re: Ky Derby - 3 years ago
I feel your pain. Once Irad blew the break I knew I had no chance. I used him with MS and EQ in 90% of my tickets. The seminar was spot on and JB knew that EQ would be caught wide which he was. Although MS went fast nobody really challenged him for the lead and everyone in front hung around.by billk5300s - Ask the Experts

Troubled Trip - 3 years ago
In the 5th race at Turfway on Friday Night, I witnessed one of the most brutal trips I’be seen in a while and at the end the horse was still full of run. If you watch the race replay keep an eye on #10 Sol Del Sur. On the first turn the horse was hit so hard that the rider was almost unseated. Then at the start of the stretch he was checked off his heels. Definitely a play back but I doubtby billk5300s - Ask the Experts
Re: Arlington Park For Sale - 3 years ago
I agree with you prist. Often times I felt like Arlington was “sandbagged†by CDI. I know this sounds crazy but it seemed like their plan was to keep it so nobody else could have it. This prevented competition. Now they could have slots but they don’t want them because it will pull folks away from the $25 tables at Rivers.by billk5300s - Ask the Experts
Re: Arlington Park For Sale - 3 years ago
Racing was thriving in Illinois in the mid 70’s through the mid 90’s. IMHO former governor Quinn put the final stake in the heart of Illinois racing when he refused to sign the gambling expansion bill which would have brought slots to the tracks. CDI swooped in like vultures to buy Arlington because they knew how valuable that land is. The people of Illinois are losing a treasure with theby billk5300s - Ask the Experts
Arlington Park For Sale - 3 years ago
CDI has officially put Arlington Park up for sale. Their plan is to sell it to developers. This is sad on many levels as this is arguably the nicest racing facility in the US. It has a perfect location but is probably too close to Rivers Casino for their liking. The word is that CDI will keep the license and use it for a new facility. When I see it I’ll believe it. How do you know? - 4 years ago
As racing limps its way back to full strength I’ve been struggling when to use the super trainers. They are bet down 90% of the time so they offer no value. I find myself hemorrhaging cash every time I try to beat them. Many times their entires are points slower and they’re bet and they win. Being in the Chicago area I’ve used to dirt to poly angle along with horses for courses. Some horses love poly. If Rivelli is training them they don’t even need to like poly, they’ll still run negative numbers at 3/5.by billk5300s - Ask the Experts
