Hey Frank D, wish I knew about that when I was trying to get Why Bill past Rambling Willie on a typical summer Saturday night a Sportsmans Park in the 70's!!! But the bull ring spring meet was the best!!!

I haven't posted much lately but I heard an interesting topic on TVG today. A player wrote in complaining about the performance of Looking at Lee in an OC40000. What frosted the guy was that Asmussen commented in an interview after the race that it was a good work out for the horse. The player felt that if you aren't going to try you shouldn't enter the horse. The talking head

In the turf sprint (DMR5) I like Hogy at anywhere near the 12-1 morning line. The turf course has been even and you can close. I'm going to use in an exacta with Disco Partner who looks to be circling to a new top. Good luck to all!

With about 25 mins to post Twin Spires handed out Storm Prophet as a play. I've watched their picks and noticed they are bet heavy and seldom reliable. I was thinking that Jo's Bold Cat could be pointing to a new top at a price. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I've never been a fan of Dylan Davis. I think that both he and Channing Hill consistently find trouble. I'm sure there are others but those two really jump out at me.

Beach Patrol was maybe the 4th best horse in the Arlington Million, gets a wide trip and wins. CB is truly a miracle worker.

A couple of weeks ago while wagering from "living room downs", I was listening to the "handicappers" on TVG. I don't remember their names so bare with me. One of the regulars often refers to TG and is by far the most knowledgeable. They were debating about graph numbers being misleading for closers. The opinion was based on the fact that closers are more likely to los

Speaking of Navarro he put one over at Penn National last night, wide trip, average figures.....no problem!

It was great to see the discussion about the Illinois Derby as we having nothing to talk about when it comes to local racing. Sadly the result mimicked what goes on regularly in Illnois. Slower horses getting bet and winning. What a sad state we are, it's embarrassing. Good luck to all moving forward!

Did anyone see the 8th at Evd last night? The winner #4 Zackarooneh came over 3 paths in the stretch and actually made contact with the 9. OK, I get it, these are cheap horses but there wasn't even an inquiry or objection. Am I off base here?

Sorry to red board but wanted to send a kudos to the TG analyst who not only picked him on top at a $65 mutual but also used as a best bet. Nice job!!!

Well said as always Frank D. Arlington Park is the most beautiful facility in racing. I realize that I'm partial because I live 30 minutes away from it.

Today is perhaps the only day of real racing that we have live in Illinois. To celebrate I'm going to share my opinion on the Arlington Million. It rained heavy at times yesterday and they are calling for more rain this morning. Although it's been a fairly dry summer here I believe the turf may be listed as something less than firm. Perhaps soft or yielding. There is an abundance o

Had a 2nd, a 3rd, and to complete the "trifecta" was DQ'd on a 5-1 first starter at Arlington which REALLY hurt. Hope everyone else did better!!!

I was looking at the 5th race today which appears to be a wide open turf race.
Hudson River Girl is 12-1 and this looks like a Maker move that I've seen many times before. Average figures going in and wins going away leaving you scratching your head.
I think Pret Say Eye has a big shot in the 3rd, pattern is moving forward, bullet work, and coming off of some troubled trips.
So far

If someone has raised this topic before I apologize for bringing it up again. Wouldn't the MLB All-Star break be the perfect time for some type of festival of racing to attract new interest in the sport we all love?

Baffert wins at SA with Emmzy. Well backed and won easily after being pushed on the lead. Boca Roja wins right after off over 1 year with nothing special noted in the UK. I guess we should always anticipate a 9 pt improvement, maybe more on similar, or was this yet another Festivus miracle?

Jerry, I agree with you. Bad morning line withstanding, I'm sick of watching "smart money" cash in on races that appear to be wide open. You put time and effort into handicapping a race only to watch a horse with a lousy pattern or who is just plain slow win at short odds. Somebody always "knows" a horse is "ready". Then we wonder by this sport dying.

I posted last month about Navarro at GP and now he's got national attention with his win at the Pat Day mile. Is he a chemist or a miracle worker?

I don't know if anyone else will agree with me but I cannot get a handle on the surface at Oaklawn. It seems biased to close up and inside and wide mid-stretch appears to be brutal. Even with this observation I really struggle there.

The pick 6 races today at GP are brutal. Could be a nice payout without a lone winner or someone will catch it playing lucky numbers. Couldn't find a single.
Good luck!!!

Yesterday Navarro's CD Gold ran through the wind at short odds and won after being beaten by over 100 lengths in his past 5 starts. Today Gombey Dance won under a hand ride after Tuscan Getway looked like he had him put away. These guys are magicians!!!

If you want to see a pathetic ride watch Dylan Davis on Say Sin Sin in race 6 at Aqueduct. Leave, duck, check....everything in his power not to win.
