I also have a call into the Red Rocks contact and will post more information when known.

In the post steroid era of racing does "the bounce" become an even bigger handicapping factor?

Thanks to all at TG especially Alan and Bill Spillane for providing the numbers for participants.
Even through I didn't cash (finished 102), I had a great time.
As for this tournament, my prediction is that like many of these events (see Keeneland note in alternative thread) it will morph into a "live money" event that mandates that dollars be waged at the host site.

Richie,
Buried in your comment is, I think, an excellent point and that is "the owners who patronize them".
Would the potenial of significant punishment to the owners enable that group to demand compliance and police the trainers that they employ?

TGJB,
Richie B wrote a nice testimonial about TG suppling numbers for free for those regular customers participating in the World Series at the Orleans which is scheduled for February 19, 20 and 21.
I spoke to the casino yesterday and they told me that, due to the ongoing signal dispute, they plan to use the following tracks in the tournament; Aqueduct, Tampa Bay, Fair Grounds, Turfw

Speaking of Aidan O'Brien, did everyone see the Melbourne Cup the other night? After the Solider of Fortune, his rabbit and their jockeys totally screwed up the trip in the Turf the three entries he had in this 2 mile race went out, by themselves, six lengths in front of the field in an attempt to make it a true "stayers race".
In the end they accounted for three of the last fou

Jerry,
Agree with your Libertarian comment and that reminds me of a funny political story.
In 1992 (Clinton v. Bush I) the Libertarian candidate for President was named Andre Marrou and he was scheduled to speak on tv near election day. So I sit my two daughters (one in elementary and the other in middle school) down to watch. He finishes his ten point program (number one being abolish

Looks to me like there will a lively early pace in this one with Precious Kitten, Daytona and Thorn Song in a battle for the lead; Goldikova (seven pound advantage to the older boys) and Kip Deville close to the leaders. Based on that I want to look at Shakis (proven inside trip history (2007 Baruch)) and Whatsthescript closing for a major piece.
I don't know what to make of US Ranger (lo

Basically that's my point. They don't carry Arlington Park so you may have to go in a different direction and since you are settling on a second choice the offering suffers some. Perhaps it is just slightly but it suffers some nonetheless.
I'm sure that the ROTW is a marketing tool to attract new customers (a trial teaser offering so to speak) but maybe there might be some int

ROTW has over the years been the best handicapping tool available both in terms of teaching the theories behind the TG numbers and in terms of identifying profitable overlays.
The change that I believe has occurred traces back to the affiliation with TVG and the need to limit the analysis to their races. I wonder if there has been any pressure (either overtly or otherwise) from the powers

I certainly don't know for sure but I would guess that the theory might be that a "top" on soft turf might be more taxing om a runner due to the deep conditions. Like any theory it needs to be tested against actual results and I don't know if Mr. Quinn has done that or just developed his reasoning from anecdotal observation.

Late Saturday I pretty much stuck with the analysis with the big difference being that I completely tossed Lawyer Ron (last two numbers regressed from his top).
Using an ABC system ala Steve Crist in Betting Exotics I invested $144 in late pick four tickets with two $1 winning tickets for a $3,013 payoff (about 19 - 1). My single A picks were Ginger Punch and English Channel and even if my

Yeah, it looks like a good weekend. I also looked at the Flower Bowl and I like Alexander Tango to win back to back.
Awesome Gem looks strong in the Goodwood. As an Awesome Again 4 year old he should hold that good form for another race and it looks like there will be some pace. Even if Lava Man stratches what value do you think we can get with Awesome Gem? Frankels's horse Hello Sunday

Thanks for setting me straight.
An untested Dr Pleasure with a rail trip holds the key. Presuming he is healthy he figures to move forward. If Brass Hat can save some ground, at lease around one turn, from his outside post he could be a factor too.

Question on mechanics: Each week the ROTW provides a basic explanation for TG numbers by defining the TG numbers assigned for lengths lost, weight carried and paths raced away from the rail.
This week I tried to work through the numbers for two horses in the Mass Cap coming out of the Whitney (Fairbanks and Brass Hat).
Fairbanks (beaten 7 ½ lengths) beat Brass Hat (beaten 12 ¾ lengths) by 5

Given all the comments on this thread regarding the WM and the winner, who has an opinion on Shakespeare's chances in the BC Mile (his target per KM)?
When Shakespeare ran in the BC turf at Belmont I had nice futures bet at Corel and he was beaten up pretty badly by the Euros (all Euro superfecta at Belmont) on yielding turf. Now the story is he was injured.
My view is that there is a
