Hit the nail on the head. It was once great fun to match wits with my fellow horseplayers. It is not fun to play against a computer. That goes for the horses, as much as it does for chess and day trading. I got out long ago. My wagering has been nil for years now. I still enjoy watching the animals though. Majestic creatures.

Where is a list of the states where it is available?

Ok. I don't understand you either. Are you saying that you played Rosarita in spite of the Analysis recommendation to avoid? Or that you followed the Analysis but still cashed somehow?

It was more than a warning the first time I tried it. I attempted to view the Del Mar Analysis and the response was that no option was available. It works now, so I can't explain what was happening earlier. No longer a proble,.

Tried to view Redboard Room but got this error message. Anybody else having this problem?

"I never understood ... how anyone who knows the game can have an opinion on the outcome of a race not even drawn yet. Not only did I think he’d lose this year, I wondered if he’d win another race." He doesn't understand how anyone can have an opinion, but then states his opinion. LOL.

I think you're probably right. Even Vito hit this one and I think that is the first pre-race pick that I've ever seen him hit on. This one must have been obvious on their sheets.

So now all the Mattress Mac allegations are going to get swept under the bed?

That a track changes speed during the day is an assertion until it is proven. So why hasn't a test been run to prove it? Seems relatively easy to prove yes or no. Much harder to measure the degree of change between races in a specific racing day, but such precise real time measurement is not necessary to prove, or disprove, the principle that changes in the energy return characteristics of a

I don't understand why so much discussion on eliminating/including favorites in the ROTW. The bottom line is whether there is a positive ROI or not. If the ROI is positive then the ROTW analyst is doing it right. If the ROI is negative, then I think we have to question the capability of the analyst. Do the numbers and then reach your conclusion about whether the ROTW analyst's approach

I love it that fantasy sport betting is a game of "skill" while parimutuel betting on horse racing is just a game of "chance".

Bad PR? LOL. Look, I'm not saying the tracks are intentionally doing something improper. I have no way of knowing. And I'm sure that practices vary from track to track. All I'm saying is that we seem to be expecting them to do something that they have no natural incentive to do. We expect diligent and rigorous enforcement of pool closure at race start. But all their natural incenti

What incentive does the track have to stop accepting wagers at off time? They make their money off the total amount bet. Their natural incentive is to keep accepting money into the pool as long as they possibly can.

Mathcapper, thanks for the response. I understand how the DD Will Pays can be used to approximate Win Pool Will Pays. But that wasn't the subject I was commenting on. My reference to will-pays was strictly Win Pool related. When the odds I saw posted in the Win Pool no longer correlated to what a Win ticket would pay, I lost interest in wagering. That was the only point I was making. I under

I don't care whether the final odds are "fair odds" or not. I just like to have a decent read on what the final odds will be when I bet. I played for many years with pretty good confidence on what the will-pays were. It got more and more difficult in recent years to do that. So I stopped playing. Except for a few big days like the BC and the Triple Crown races where I still play a

From the NTRA wagering task force report:"United Tote has recently unveiled its “Enterbet,” designed to facilitate players’ ability to directly interface with the tote."
GChandler, how does this square with your comment that the CRWs have no direct access to the tote?

Gchandler, you very well may be correct in everything you state. But you didn't address the issue of late large swings in the odds. I stopped playing when it became apparent that I could not reliably approximate what the final odds would be. Do you dispute that these computerized bet generators are a significant cause of that?

Well said. And this is why I stopped playing long ago. I still enjoy following the sport. But when it became impossible to even approximate the final odds, the betting aspect of the game became too frustrating. I found myself sitting on too many bets that I never would have played at the odds.
