I googled "turf rails out" and see posts on this from bellsbendboy from 2006. What I don't get is BBB saying he does not bet NYRA but if he has this insight why not bet with both hands if you know something about this that others may not?
My quick conclusion was that this is yet another thing that should be included in the Racing Form? I would think a one mile turf race with

TGJB you are right about Baffert and he deserves a world of credit, but I would say the biggest difference this year is the five and a half month break AP had vs. the others. There have been lots of experiments with spacing, running fewer preps, etc., but that long break looks like the really distinguishing factor here. Sorry if others have gotten into this but I have not read through all 500 po

I think the question is - how hard did AP work in the Preakness? He hit the button on the turn and that was it. The other Derby horses were toast.

I wouldn't be surprised if he backed up here and I don't think it matters too much. He went to the lead and did his thing and he didn't need the whole tank to do it.

AP should have something left for the Belmont. He sure didn't get whipped 30 times today. They came up and he blew them off on his own, hand ridden to the wire. Especially impressive since he got out of the gate fast too. Will be interesting to see him butt heads early with Materiality if that's what's coming.

I haven't been to that many but Hialeah was the nicest one I've ever seen.
Talk about scared, I started out going to Aqueduct, and from Flatbush you have to take the "D" to the "S" shuttle train, they give you a "transfer" and you get off and walk a block on Franklin Ave. in Bed-Stuy to get to the "A" train. You have to be in love to do that

This is amazing.
In the weeks and months before the AFC Championship Game, McNally periodically exchanged text messages with the Patriots equipment assistant primarily responsible for the preparation of the Patriots game balls, John Jastremski. In a number of those text messages, McNally and Jastremski discussed the air pressure of Patriots game balls, Tom Brady's unhappiness with the i

Would love to see at least one pure speed type enter the Preakness so AP and/or Dortmund has to at least THINK about pushing early.

I thought the slow first 1/2 was the key. In retrospect the best comment here was from whoever said it would be impossible to figure out what the pace would be and who would send or not send. I never would have imagined that the whole colony of jockeys would have come out of the gate and collectively said "let's just let them do their thing and watch."

Would you say they could change a lot in the two hour break before the Derby? Couldn't you could watch very closely and end up changing your bets and blow it?

It would be better for them if the Bafferts swapped. Dortmund would be better off outside, big guy allowed to do his thing and get his space. I say it's a bad draw for him. Those jocks inside will have to earn their money, but if there's pace they will be fine. Maybe they will let Zayat lay out traffic cones so AP can have room. I can't wait to see him break and have to fight.

I'm going to say that it makes absolutely no difference that the other stupid Zayat horse is in there next to him. Is Zayat going to able to make sure he doesn't veer in front of AP. It's a horrible draw for AP. In order for him not to lose ground he has to work his ass off and butt heads with whoever else is up there, and there is no way he will walk up there by himself. Outsi

He can back up a bit and still win with a good trip. I'll Have Another ran big early but he had a big gap to his last prep. CChrome was really the exception to this. Kept firing. Others don't. At this ML he's a must use but that's the possible chink I see in the armor.

Here's my knock on Upstart. Take a look at the archives. In quite a few cases that HUGE number early in 3yo campaign (Jan/Feb) is a big negative. No question about his value, but take a peek and see what you think.

When he says "take him out" I think he is talking about the horse, Materiality, not JB. Tough room.

I’ll throw in. If these odds are close (saw them today) and the Baffert horses get bad draws this could be a nice payday. Could use more info from folks down there (covel?). Maybe I keep it simple this year. Three “must use” in here for me and I’ll have to figure out how to build around.

Article says "faster than par" and it was the second fastest time on this new surface, and if there is no run up that means that the clock is going to be slow vs. American times with run ups. I'm good with TG figure/pattern. The last fig makes sense as I think he was on the rail quite a bit of the way around? Plus he wasn't that far back and I don't think he will be to

That's a good point sekrah. A lot of people were saying when everyone thinks there's a lot of speed they will be hesitant and take back. I agree with what you are saying, they are probably going to go because you can't take a horse out of his game and teach him something new in this particular race.

If you think a $192 one dollar tri ticket is going to get you five figures I would agree. I would never try to talk someone out of something. For me I need a little more focus.

In terms of what I like about the race, I like Moop and will definitely use him. I did a little research. That sire is really something. In a four year stretch he sired horses that won 25 Grade I's (albeit on turf) all over the world and quite a few are at 1-1/4. He's a half to Prix de l'Opera winner Lily of the Valley. Broodmare sire is a Grade I winner as well. Class and di

I am terrible at "translating into betting" but to me it only makes sense to use this many horses if you don't like the favorites and that is not the case here, at least for you. I know everyone wants to hit the Derby but in some ways you have to treat it like just another race. Is it bettable or not? Do you have a real conviction?
As a guy named Jerry Brown once taught me
