Speaking of ground work ...
Richie, you can be the King of Not a Thing in Moscow.
Let's see if that wakes anybody up. :-)

I think there were six flags thrown for the entire game. Half of those came with less than two minutes to play. Ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as the halftime show ... almost. :-)

Let me know if you need anyone to do ground work in the Eastern Bloc. I'll gladly go back to the Old Country for free sheets. :-)

Consider going international to make up for lost opportunities in the States. The California tracks may be the next to go. They seem to be on life support right now.

How do you handicap for penalty flags?
It should have been Rams 4th & goal with just under 2:00

Reminds me of a couple of guys I used to hang with at the track.
They used to refer to Don Brumfield as "the anchor." Don't know if there was anything to it, but those two guys avoided Brumfield at all cost. It was hilarious.
Don Brumfield used to ride in these parts towards

I don't care what the American Racing Manual has to say. Aqueduct has the longest stretch in the country. The wire never gets there.
I think Bill Mott would agree.

Thank you for that article.
Jon didn't ask the one question I would have asked ...
Do you think it's fair that CAW players operate under different rules than other players?
Like any other player I am looking for a horse

I haven't followed, or watched, much of any sports for years.
I just turned on the Pro Bowl and can't believe what I'm seeing. They're playing touch football!
How long has this been going on?

It looks like the NYRA will probably pull the trigger on a artificial surface at Belmont Park sometime in the near future. Something the powers that be have been thinking about for over 60 years.
Attached is a DRF article dated 5/14/1959.

I get it. It's all about safety, especially in this woke matrix we're currently in, but I have never seen so many cancelations and late scratches in my life.

Oaklawn has cancelled Friday through Sunday because of a "winter storm in the region."
Where is it? I'm looking at the weather forecast and it's in the mid 30s today, and in the 40s and sunny for the weekend. Wtf?

I took the 50 races they ran at GP last week and ran them through a spreadsheet I made.
This was not the intended purpose of the spreadsheet, but this kind of analysis is well within its scope.
What I did was compare the official closing prices, for each horse, to how they actually performed on the track.
The end result is a rating I'll call "volatility Rate." The lower th

I can kind of relate if it was a crime of passion. I was just always upfront with my plans.
One year, I think it was Thanksgiving day, Hawthorne was running. Early post time.
I remember all the family was at the house as I walked in with Racing Form in hand.
I'm like, "I know you're all here, but I have to go to the track today. Harvey Vanier has HAMMOCKER all cranked-up

They ran 50 races at Gulfstream last week. 18 were on the synthetic.
I was under the impression they were only going to use the synthetic track when races were rained off the turf.
What's the deal?
