You're back tracking so fast a hole is forming behind you. Now, it's not predicting a breakdown on the day, like Eight Belles, it's "doesn't make two more starts"
....enough,Go Mets!

Wrong again, you're due to be right.
I called you out on the nonsense that you, in advance, could predict that a horse would breakdown from looking at numbers on a piece of paper.Offered to lay 10-1 everytime. Interesting that since you predicted Eight Belles, you have not seen one single horse who's profile projects breakdown.
Save it for the Kool Aid drinkers.

Rosario had 9 mounts on Belmont card, take a look where he placed most of his horses all day on straight. Frosted, for example, won by 14+, but he stayed inside never attempting to get off, same with Gov Malibu whom many thought would have been closer if taken out and not stopped.
Rosario not nearly as good as he was since he became over committed to fence. His superior physical power somewhat

Wrong,Rosario won titles year after year and the fields were not 5 horses, it was before horse shortage.Wrong again on grass where at GP meets for two years running he was stopped along the rail more times that you can count.
Lastly, wrong again, where he now rides most of his dirt and grass races, along the fence.

Rare that someone goes wide when the option to cut the corner is there. Many get stopped by marrying inside with the best horse.
Joel Rosario went from one of top 3 jockeys on planet to average because of Kool Aid drinking agent,a Sheet slave, instructing him to stay inside.

Yes, little to do with saving ground, much to do with talented horses/placement.

The "he didnt like the track" argument is very weak. Exagg handled 7 different surfaces/tracks with aplomb. His Belmont X was the classic, over the top, cumulative effect,if there ever was one.

Think Rich may be suggesting that if you look at the pace for both races, the Belmont pace does not come up slow.If that's all you're looking at,you can get to the Belmont pace being quasi-fast.

Anti racing NY Gov Cuomo wins his fight to keep control over NYRA.Word out of Albany suggests no deal could be made with Gov by June 16 deadline.
During the Belmont Stakes, Cuomo, absent per usual, was at a small town upstate Fair....nice slap at the game.

Rich,
I saw both, and felt CJ's comments did not match the 140? early(from memory)Regardless,we can get too anal about such issues. In this case, the likelihood of using the race/pace to predict the next performance of these horses,is semi delusional.

Bob,
Of course but track speed is highly relevant with pace or whole figs. Very little current data is available on 12f pace figs and simply because of the distance, jocks are most likely putting the brakes on early.Saturdays raw surface was plus+ many lengths.
Pace figs at 12f rarely pass a smell test as jockey intent is not quantifiable. This Belmont's pace was more to the honest/slow

Rich,
Honestly tend to evaluate pace by myself in NY/Cali but do respect/use CJ and Moss, not a Bris fan.Paco Lopez(Gettysburg) was trying to win imo.Dont know what his instructions were. You know, historically, true rabbits are sent hard and go as fast and as long as they are able to, then ease.Paco hardly went out sending with intent to go fast all the way.

Strange "rabbit" that only goes 24/48.2 raw on a very quick surface.

Frenchie undefeated as rider in Europe as Tepin wins tight finish, maybe the Queen offers him a job to stay there......hopefully.

Maybe a few too many wines at dinner but to suggest one can "see" how deeply a horse is going while powering thru a dirt or any surface is something I've never heard in 50 years.

Bob,
Awful ride by Kent D, track anything but tiring +180,EXaggerator completely empty for whatever reason.Exag is however 2-8 on dry surfaces 3-4 wet.

In deep water re updated pars and updated parallel time charts being inferior to going off horses and backing into numbers. The track slowed later? Not according to time of the Belmont or the last race.
I'll leave it there.

On your stuff only. Looking at the times of several races, it's easy to see you are over indulged by beaten lengths and not the clock. Several ordinary horses THAT DAY ran past the mile mark only 2-3points slower than Frosted, none of them are near the TG neg -2 or -3 range.
by

Ask the Experts
That gets subjective, also no one had Plechers filly, that you gave neg -6 or near that, anywhere near as fast.
Projecting/slaving off a horse that ran 2nd, 3rd or whatever ain't the way others make figures when there are enough data points in one turn races of similar distances to establish a constant variant.
Slaving off any horse except the winner, when same day data is available, is

Story from backside is that TAP refused to enter Gettysburg in the Belmont so Walden switched barns to Asmussen. Obviously the idea was to liven the pace for Creator and Winstar bound Exaggerator. With such a nose finish, its a fair assumption that with no Gettysburg in the race Destin may have wired. The difference in being alone vs vying on the lead(regardless of splits) MAY have got Deatin home

Agree Frank but winning with move cheap claimers not nearly as difficult as consistently winning at the highest level( stakes, allowances)
Very true about huge vet bills from top outfits which must help.
