I share many of the same sentiments, having done this daily grind for a long time with diminishing returns and increasing frustrations.
There's a track available from DRF/Xpressbet and NYRA bets called Caymanas Park, outside Kingston, Jamaica.
They have a safe, deep, super-consistent, bias-free surface, great jockeys and trainers and HUGE fields and payouts, especially pick sixes and m

You get a sinking feeling after that performance. One caveat though--there seems to be an ungodly rail bias there. You'd think Medina will be on the rail. I don't blame you though. Pimlico is a screwy track to begin with. Baffert has a horse in Race 1 tomorrow, Hozier. The rest have been removed from his barn.

I know who she is. She says flat out she was an expert witness in Arkansas for Baffert's cases there. Either her point is valid or it isn't though. You can literally test positive for drugs from drinking tap water. Years ago at Belmont, I remember Aidan Obrien bringing his own water from Ireland. He wouldn't let his horses drink tap water. That's attention to detail right th

From someone who actually knows what she's talking about.
Maybe Baffert is guilty of other things, but this is a complete joke. Beyond a joke. How the hell can KY, supposedly the thoroughbred mecca of the world, be this screwed up?

Ever see his early life and story--once you come from those roots, you never lose that fight, even if he mingles with the super wealthy today. And they all do it by the way. Maybe not Shug lol. This particular horse I'm hearing from some big trainers I've spoken with has some serious physical issues, and there probably is more to the inflammation story than we are being told. He will de

Maybe we should just give racing back to the aristocrats for whom it is just a sport like it is in England. The trouble with the rest of us is we actually need the money, hence all the complications, deceptions, cheating, etc.. Yes, bravo to the Phipps stable. Might as well take gambling off the table, too, make these meets like the Far Hills jumping races where racing is a pleasant afternoon out

Well, then. . .don't send your horses to his barn then lol
My thoughts are the Baffert express will keep on rolling along. And he's got several live runners on Preakness day you might want to factor into your wagers. I know I will.

I was thinking along similar lines. If what he said in that press conference is accurate (if he's lying there, it's like a whole Michael-Corleone-Senate-hearing thing--and he'd be REALLY stupid, which we know he is not), it should be easy enough with time to get to the truth, esp. regarding the hair analysis. The whole thing seems like some kind of set up, or dare I use the "C

I want to say Richmond Avenue? I remember a great pizza place nearby called Gino's. I would go with my dad and some of his friends, all WW II Vets--a hardboiled crew to say the least. They mostly went to Monmouth and Jersey tracks, but from that ridiculously young age, I always liked New York racing better. Back then, you could smoke, and the smoke inside was so thick, you could cut it with

Will Godolphin ever win a Derby??? I think we need Liam Neeson at the Derby, as this could be the plot of "Taken 4".

Would you expect a 3 year year old to improve in late spring though?
Were they huge tops? I don't suppose anyone has looked at horses previously running on Lasix and then no Lasix in stakes races regarding numbers/patterns? That would be interesting to see.

I think there is no bigger factor when handicapping this year's derby than the Lasix ban in the prep races and the derby itself.
I haven't heard too many people talk about it--certainly not the talking heads on TVG or other networks.
I don't post much anymore; actually, I'm transitioning more and more toward sports betting after 50 or so years of horses almost ever

A lot of the top trainers win % is significantly down this year; perhaps it can be attributed to the pandemic and all the interruptions, but I also wonder if the FBI operation may have had any industry-wide effects?
I won't name any names (because, without proof, I'd be implying they were doing something illegal before), but one big trainer I follow quite closely, quite frankly, is n

GAMINE - 3 years ago
That was crazy. She just missed the track record for a mile, and she was geared down the last eighth. I guess she didn't need any lidocaine. Either the track is suped up or she ran one of the fastest numbers ever for a 3 year old filly or both.

you're third point down was why i took a negative view without even seeing numbers--he hadn't won for a while--i think though, the simplest assessment--the number plus he was getting weight made him someone to look at. he was certainly a contender

Disclaimer: I didn't buy sheets yesterday and played very small.
Did anyone hit with Paret? Competitive numbers and exiting a 1.2 million dollar race over course and distance in which he finished second; plus he was getting 6 pounds less than his main rivals which really matters in a mile and a half race. I didn't even note the jockey change to Vargas, who is exponentially

I was looking at an Equibase calendar, and they're posting Golden Gate will resume this Saturday as well as Pimlico? Next week after, Churchill and Santa Anita? I hadn't heard this was all a go. Do you all know for sure?

Late pick 5 pool was 1.3 million! What's Gulfstream's Pick 6 going to be tomorrow? 5 or 10 million? More? I'm surprised the sports talk radio stations don't mention racing. All they ever say is there are no live sporting events except pro wrestling! I want to yell at the radio.

As of Thursday afternoon, TWO TRACKS LEFT IN AMERICA STILL RUNNING. . . AND their races are going off at the same time. You can't make this stuff up. Maybe the Gulfstream saunter may stagger things a few minutes. Geez.
